Proud of you.
You HAVE started!

This is a huge step forward. One of many, yes, but the first is often the most important.
No hugs, but v. proud.0 -
Dealer speak for 'its not ready for you yet'.
We can have it, but don't need to, and he's given us a car till then....we're putting our junk from old car into 'new' car this week. If he wants to do more to it...fine, but he serviced it on Monday and when fir said about collection / paying he suggested Thursday so he could be here and garage said leave it til Monday, for the tax disc.
Re spa, I love massages, and the occasional facial. Fir loves every thing about the experience! But falling asleep in a pool is a bad idea IMO. And yes, I really could do that ATM.:D

Is there anything stopping you setting a date/time for doing this?
DW is told to think SMART, and for once I think this corporate-speak makes some sense.
By the way, I'm sorry that I've been so challenging at times. I really had not realised how deep-rooted your issues are and the extent to which they have limited you. It's fantastic that you are taking the first steps towards dealing with them. I'm so pleased for you!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Yes. Signing up for GP.
Any good striking while the iron is hot?
Have you identified the practices near you?0 -
Yes, how do you find a good GP?
I know that one of the issues is people trying to find the best GP. You don't need best, just good.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I am just going to stalk after you going 'me neither'!oops...I didn't realise 'knickers' was just for females.
Before anyone thinks I'm into cross dressing, I've amended my post.:p
Hmm, that was embarrassing.
(I blame English not being my first language)
I think we're very understanding here Wheezy.....lostinrates wrote: »
Your GP might be able to direct you somewhere but NHs coverage might not be very good. GP would certainly be a good place to start though, and give you some direction as to what might be available locally.
And free. There will be private options for you, but as it might be a while, it wouldn't be cheap.
Agree, the Gp is a good place to start. Would it come under the heading of phobia? Ther are people who specialise in helping with phobias. Good to hear that you have decided to tackle the problem, it will make a huge difference to the quality of your life.0 -

If I could choose for pn then I'd say they don't even have to be better than average but they would have to be understanding. Understanding of restrictions pn might face.
To help them pn is going to have to say that she has speshulness and this aspect has been very hard for her to face.
Pn, would a particular sex of GP help?
Some websites mention that gp's have special interests...like female health or acupuncture or stuff.
I would suggest a GP open to something 'forward thinking ' like particular areas of health research or or -' alternative' like acupuncture might ( not will be but might ) be a GP more sympathetic to more newly recognised things like speshulness. Just something to think about.0 -
Also if you'd like so done to sit in the waiting room while you go in I can probably do that if it helps
. You've always been so kind to offer me help and I want you to know I'm happy to do the same for you if you want it.

Feel free to ignore if not useful. Also let me know if anything should be deleted.
Finding GP practices: http://www.nhs.uk/Pages/HomePage.aspx
When you look at the practices, on the 'staff' tab some of the individual GPs list 'specialities' - not sure if some might specialise in Speshulness? Doubt it, but worth looking out for.
Some suggestions about how to discuss speshulness/ go about getting a diagnosis, which I'm guessing would be the gateway to help: http://www.autism.org.uk/about-autism/all-about-diagnosis/diagnosis-information-for-adults/how-do-i-get-a-diagnosis.aspx0
