Oh sue.
I think tenants have not bad rights here actually, but you certainly need more, I'm guessing cold might have some impact on your joints / mobility too?
Strongly recommend warm beds with electric blankets and using the heater In the room you can all use most....sitting room? Good warm meals, hot drinks help a lot. A bog standard Veg soup is surprisingly wonderful ( and brilliantly cheap and healthy), even for breakfast.0 -

New one will be a dream to operate and cheaper too. And it's free.... you're not having to wonder where to get £2-3k from.
All I can say is: thick socks, warm leggings, jumper, lie on a duvet on the sofa and pull the other half over the top ... and get a scarf for your nose.
I'm looking forward to a new system, this one has been on its last legs for quite a few years now..not looking forward to the installation though, so many pipes to be removed, new pipes to be installed, it is going to be a nightmare. I know I am lucky not to have to find the money to replace but I do so wish I had put them off doing the power flush and mucking about with it in a quest to improve it, especially as it was working better than it had for ages.
Thick socks - check. Leggings - hmm nope, none of those around, Jumper - check. Duvet on sofas - check. Also blanket over quilt on bed and a cat cuddling up.
Must find my scarf :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Is there anything the NP can do to help? I'd be more than happy to chip in for an extra oil filled radiator if it would be useful, or some electric blankets, or whatever would help most, and I expect other NP would too.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

The good heater is in the front room, the not so good one is upstairs to try to warm the bedrooms, toilet and bathroom up. Door is shut to the kitchen as that gets very drafty, as is the hallway downstairs.
No electric blankets here, like PN, I get very eek over fire risk.
I think I may just be being slightly over sensitive as I am tired, still stressed from the weekend and yes, the cold does have an impact on my joints, so in a fair bit of pain too.....I wouldn't normally complain as I know I am lucky to have it done for me and not worry about having to find the pennies to do it but once I get cold cold, it takes an awful lot for me to warm up again and with all the doors open today, I got very cold indeed. We made it! No, no, it's fine, we will muddle through and find a way through. Mum and dad's is usually quite warm so if it gets too much, I can always spend a few hours down there for a bit of relief. We made it! I must be daft, utterly so, because I cannot understand why a heating guy would leave the door open?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

It's probably that genetic trait favoured by 99% of workmen that come to your house. They're careless, unthinking, thoughtless .... if they can leave doors open, they will; if they can leave the site without you having a clue if/when they're coming back, they will; if they can put their saw/hammer down on your most precious piece of furniture, they will; if they can randomly want access to a room you didn't expect them to want/need access to, they will; if they can generally shlep about your house as if it were their own, leaving doors/windows open and showing a complete disregard for your possessions, comfort and privacy, they will.0 -

From what I could see, to save that tiny little bit of time opening and closing it when he was going in and out. I didn't mind so much when he was in the constant in and out phase but got a little annoyed when he was in the messing about in the house for an hour phase.
I shut the door at that point.....he noticed, tutted and opened it again! We made it!
