Am I the only NP who abhors mushy peas then? :undecided
All the posts about mushy peas inspired me. tonight I am goingto soak some peas, I have a piece of Gammon to cook and will make pea and ham soup for lunch on a weekday...it is known as hogwarts soup to our DD and she will not touch it. it is a rediscovered pleasure to OH and I.

    I second that.

If it's something non-standard, the chemist here has to order it in.

2 of my 3 items are ordered-only, so I have to wait 3 days for it. That, I really don't understand, but that's life.

This is almost certainly similar to what we'll end up doing if fir gets the RR. Only bonus will be he says LR can go to breakers what ever happens.

RR? A rolls Royce or a range rover?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

You all know the state of my health, I think these are fine if this was all about variables you can directly influence but your genetic inheritance is also critical my cousin and a friend of Ohs both f whom fulfilled all healthy living criteria , died of undiagnosed cardiac issues whilst out on their normal running regime. aged 32 and 48 respectively.

DW annoys me in that she thinks it is fine to disturb the neighbours whatever the time whereas I think it is always rude - I guess she used to live in SE London where you never got quiet and no one cared but I wish she would set a better example to the kids :([/QUOTE]

Does she know that it is considered anti social where you live?

    Red Renault :D

My son is dead keen on a Renault Vel Satis. Very cheap, for an awful lot of car, but I strongly expect not that reliable. Big enough to take a couple of bales of straw in the back, though.

    I prefer the Avantime.

I loved the driving position of the S-Maxes, and it's similar to that, whilst (IMO, there are varying opinions on this) being a really stylish coupe.

The Vel Satis is like a sofa on wheels, and again, I really liked the quirky styling of it.

Reliability on both I have no idea, though, but we got a Scenic taxi to well over 500k miles until we decided it wasn't worth repairing to put another plate on, It was one of the last of the old models, so mechanically I don't know how different they are.

Our neighbour woke me at 5.45 the other day by getting into his van and turning the radio on full blast before closing the door :( Still, look where I live!

Well done on your result Mas :T

lir - Hooray about the meds! Good luck with new car(s) :)

I like mushy peas and petit pois. I like other sorts of peas too, but my stomach doesn't. I love broad beans, but OH does't like them, so we never have them.

As far as oysters are concerned, I thoroughly agree with PN _pale_

Spirit Glad you are well enough to make soup :j

Single Sue Your Nan sounds very similar to mine :D She lived to 90, having survived bowel cancer at 75, and was still chopping her own logs at 88. She always said her doctor had told her "You're not old 'til you're ninety" so we always reckoned she got to ninety and decided she could decently go now :D

My Poppy arrived today! (Order number 215XXX) I haven't unwrapped the actual poppy yet, as it's Mr ivyleaf's Christmas present, but I feel slightly guilty that the stem of mine has been cleaned :o (i.e. it had already been cleaned before sending.) OH says that if it does have any mud on it, he'll let it stay there.

I cut my finger earlier on when slicing an onion and asked OH to put a plaster on it for me. Some minutes later he was still struggling to extract the plaster from its little packet. In the end I got the giggles and managed to do it myself :rotfl:
