Sigh, I'm having to type with the cat wedged determinedly between me and the laptop *rolls eyes*
I chose "ivy" because the lady in the papershop ages ago mis-remembered my name and put me down as "Ivy" in her diary when I cancelled the papers because we were going on holiday. Then not long after that I saw a picture of an "ivy leaf pendant" in a catalogue and thought "Ivyleaf - that'll do nicely for a username!"
I did get DH to take a photo of an ivy leaf when we were in Sorrento once and was planning to use it as my avatar, but when we got home and uploaded the holiday photos, that particular one was nowhere to be seen. So that's why I still don't have an avatar!0 -

!
Oh, I get that. I've just had to move a very disgruntled mauve squeaker and a slightly less grumpy pink whistley. Because mauve squeaker stays in the house pretty much she's really clingy now, and hangs onto one like a limpet.
On Sunday evening there was fury because fir and I wouldn't let her in the middle spot while we just watching a film.0 -
I live in Outer Herts, or is it Greater Herts? No Jewish or scientific connections as far as I know. Oh, and I like mushrooms.
Yes! Mushrooms! :j Welcome ivyleaf.
By way of introduction; my name is Wheezy, I'm the Belgian around here (or as PasturesNew would say : "a bloody furrener").
Avid mushroom lover (as most NP's), no kids, but blessed with a lovely spouse and a silly westie.

I named myself after an alarm clock I had as a student.
I was rubbish at waking up and was worried I would miss my finals so a mate and I went out to buy me an alarm clock.
We bought one that was in the shape of a soldier which played Reveille which we decided Il Generali was good good name for.
I do like a good mushroom.0 -
I miss the days you could walk through a field to pick a free lunch or hack a puff ball to pieces with a stick...... Ahh misspent youth.
You can eat puff balls too.
And you can still pick mushrooms in lots of places.
Sadly some places are being depleted by illegal professional picking or just over enthusiastic amateur picking.
We get some here, but I'd like to have good mushrooms growing about the place.
When we came we had lots of beech in the hedgerows, but they've all died ( infact, we buts get the last of them down this year). We had ideas of growing truffles at the foot of them. At one of out local pubs you can swap produce for meals or credit towards meals. Truffles would probably go a fair way.0 -
Came back yesterday from a couple of weeks touring Andalucia.
Saturday sipping Alhambra Reserva 1925 on a pub terrace in Setenil de las Bodegas....today in the office looking out on yet more rain...utterly depressing.

You think on a ward not all patients can get good care if its well staffed? Here we can care about each other whether some of us are in hospital or if some one tripped and grazed a knee.
Re fatigue, you're building fitness hopefully that and good nutrition choices , good sleep etc will help. Be fair to your self. You still have employment stress. And regarding the impact of fatigue....I have broken brain ......and being tired is more impactful frankly.
Exactly. Everyone is free to cast whatever sized shadow on here (or bring a little sunshine too).
Great news Gen, I'm sure the fatigue will keep slowly improving.
Lots of exclamation marks in sigs for me, you potty-mouthed lotBetter than yesterday when they were in posts too though.
Hope I haven't missed anything major in my skim?
Welcome to our new posters0 -

However.......that's not saying much.
Edit,...yeah, no extra exclamation marks showing to me.
Do you think there comes a point when they run out of exclamation marks? Perhaps causing a world shortage? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
