I can't do that - put on my boots, that is, not yours - without leaning against something.

I may need to have carers come in to help me dress and then at night to help me undress. The main problem being bra's and my shoulder brace and splint There is no way I can do these by myself when Oh is not around .in Nov he is away and Dd goes to Aus.
Tomorrow we have our lovely oversized bath taken out and replaced by a walk in shower so I can shower independantly.

Still no rehab sorted so i am seeing the gp tomorrow and have a private physio coming in the afternoon.I now have elasticated waist trousers and a new pair of nordika slippers with backs in as mules are too risky. I am 54 going on 84 at present.

At the moment is a key part of that Spirit. You have made the first parts of your recovery really well.

Now the slower bits start. Hard work, hard work. But you can do it.

As you get more strength back in that arm and more dexterity it might be worth having a look for some front fasting bras. It might be there comes a stage where that is possible before the standard back fastening.

    Yes! Mushrooms! :j Welcome ivyleaf.
By way of introduction; my name is Wheezy, I'm the Belgian around here (or as PasturesNew would say : "a bloody furrener"). :D
Avid mushroom lover (as most NP's ;)), no kids, but blessed with a lovely spouse and a silly westie.

Lovely to meet you, Wheezy :) Which part of Belgium are you from? We lived near Antwerp for a couple of years when my husband was in the army, and have been having mayo with our chips ever since! A lovely country, and not just because of the chips with mayo, or the chocolate. I miss it, but have managed a couple of visits.

I've seen a pic of your Westie, he's lovely (I think it's a he, apologies if not.)

I've got some in the garden... although I did cut it back pre-furries..... I'll pop out and see if I can snap a random leaf .... if there are any not grotty and without a shabby background.

Edit: Their environs are a bit shabby .... so no nice, shiny, clean ones, I'll see what I've snapped.

Edit 2: Here is the least shabby one, feel free to not use it http://i59.tinypic.com/15plw5u.jpg

Pastures, that's really sweet of you! And it's a great picture! I've bookmarked it to keep it safe, but I'm not sure how to make it into my avatar though - can anyone advise please? I'm not at all technically-minded :o

    Just what I was thinking.

Spirit, I'm sorry your pets are helping themselves to your food! how frustrating :(, however much you love them.

Just dashing out but thought I'd update re. Dad.

He saw the GP with Mum today. The GP is pretty certain it's not TIAs; took 2 b/p readings, will get an ECG and full blood test.

No referrals on for CT/MRI at the moment. He thinks there's a pattern of tiredness, long days, stressful travel, and eating a large meal at the end of that. Has suggested obvious ways to ameliorate this risk in the future and will of course see him pronto if anything further happens.

It sounds reassuring for now, and thanks for the hugs yesterday. :)

You can do it using the url to the image - which is the link to the image.

On the green bar above, look for User CP. Click that.
On the left, look for Edit Avatar. Click that.
See Option 1 says Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website - well copy/paste the image address into that box.
    Click Save Changes.
