    Thanks Tahlullah.

I'm off to the Netball this evening (or Neckball as The Girl calls it). TBH I'm not much of a fan but the rest of the family enjoys it and I'll end up wondering off after 20 mins with The Girl to mess about at something, just like I used to when I took her to the Soccer.

AIUI, Australia has the only professional netball league anywhere? Or does NZ have one, too?

I like playing netball, but I've never watched any sport much. Rather do it, or not do it, don't see the point much in watching it (unless as a personal supporter to one of the teams, etc)
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

It's a pan-Tasman league. There were 10 teams last season, 3 from NZ and 7 from Aus. I vaguely picked up today that 2 of the teams (both from Victoria) are merging to one this season to reduce it to 9.

All the games are televised live on Foxtel (Sky). One game a week was also on a free channel you could get on a normal TV in most parts of urban Australia, I'm not sure if that's still the case.

We had over 10,000 to the game today, equivalent to a little under 30,000 supporters in the UK I guess on a population basis. That's the sort of support Aston Villa or Everton get in the soccer.

The Swifts, the NSW state professional side, get 3-5,000 along depending on who they're playing and when they play (Monday night games are hopeless, Sunday afternoon it's packed).

Tonight was a big budget performance. Sponsorship was from Telstra (BT) and Foxtel (Sky). Laser & projector pre-match build up along with the normal Sydney netball thing of turning off the lights and giving everyone a flashing LED ball to get the mood going.

Lots of fun but it's not my sport. Like I find with rugby league, the biggest sport in NSW I guess, I've never played, I don't get the subtleties of the sport and I don't really understand the rules. Still, The Girl loved tying her new Aussie scarf round me and playing horsey after the game and so did I.

Gen, so glad you left your lovely children's picture up long enough for me to show them to OH. :) He thought it a lovely photo too. They look a really jolly pair. :j Smiling at "neckball"! :)

Old home news... Viewer 1 (1st time buyer so unlikely to be interested due to amount of work needs doing) no feedback yet. Viewer 2, who arrived on Thursday while were doing some decluttering so we showed her round (was booked for Friday but she got date wrong) has asked for second viewing, will happen Monday afternoon. Viewer 3 Friday afternoon no feedback yet.

I wonder if Viewer 2 has had some further news from the person interested in purchasing her apartment. Another local person! Was going to put up link to old home yesterday, but when the floor plan went up it had an extra window <rolls eyes> in the front, so I've waited till that was changed. No internal photos as place is still full of boxes and carp. :o But the floor plan gives some idea of size and shape, though doesn't include the chimney breasts, which is a little bit annoying, the rooms aren't just rectangular as they appear.

Edit: Ooops, dreadfully sorry Yorkie, didn't thank you for our cosy new thread! :o Thank you! :j

There's a new Wickes that opened this week, pulled in there as you can enter a free draw to get a £10k kitchen... but they were queueing to park in the small car park, so I came home again..... I can either walk down later, or go tomorrow. I am not the "lucky sort" that stands a chance of winning it.... but you have to be in it to win it.... so might as well. It'd be perfect to win that.... I can't justify a new kitchen, but there's so much wrong with this one that I know I'm going to have to do something drastic with it within 2 years as it's so dysfunctional, awkward, unusable and poorly planned that it's not even good enough to be able to store beans and find them in it.

Go for it PN! :) DD2 and her family went to some new opening shop with a prize draw of a giant polar bear teddy thing. She won it! And to say it's "giant" is something of an understatement! :rotfl: It's in the Twins' playroom and takes up a considerable amount of floor space!

Mind you, DD2 always did well in the school fete tombola, and is one of those "lucky sort". Around 25 years ago  DD1 was in a local production of Carousel as the Youngest Snow Child, and we went to see it. Oh how I wept when You'll Never Walk Alone came on! :o Anyway, there was a raffle there, so we had tickets to support the theatre. First prize ginormous teddy bear. DD2 won it. She was about 5 at the time, the bear was bigger than her! (funny when she went up to collect prize!) Rather like the polar bear and the twins. :rotfl: Photo will arrive at some time, as we just found giant teddy bagged up in the loft and brought it home. Took pics yesterday but not had time to upload yet.

Anyway, you have to be in it to win it, as you say.

I spent a couple of years comping quite seriously, and had a few nice prizes, though not the most expensive ones. Palm Pilot (when they were new), 5* London hotel for a weekend, was always trying for a computer but didn't ever win one. :rotfl: Never did the foreign holiday ones as don't have passport and at the time we were committed to caravan hols for the sailing, and OH was still working then. If I was comping now I might try for hols as OH is retired so has as much hols as he wants! ;) Oh, years ago I won a Toyota knitting machine. I was thrilled, when I rang up my Mum to tell her she said "Shame it wasn't a car"!

You can go head to head in a race with Doozer to sell.

    I've adjusted your link ....

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think Doozer will do better than us - hers is a palace. Ours is tip with a big hole in the kitchen ceiling where the plaster fell down... Fortunately we were out buying a barbie at the time, or OH might have been an ex-OH 6 ft under  as it all landed just where he'd have been stood at oven cooking.

    Grrrrrrrrrrrr

All the bits in the drill bit box have got mixed up. Haven't got a clue what's what.

How do you tell a masonary drill bit from a wood one? ( I only know because its in the right hole in the box :( )

Change of subject... We aren't very fond of jet skiers as some of the ones around in Abersoch Bay are really stupid. REALLY STUPID. Ignore all rules, come in at fast speed close to shore in areas where they aren't supposed to, seen swimmers have close calls myself. So OH has written a song. It's on FaceBook, but it looks to me as if it's Public, so here it is!

Houses sell either because they are ready to move into or because they need serious work.
