Is there a reason why there are no windows onto the courtyard?
This has mostly been answered by GDB but also, masonary tend to be silver/grey, metal black and wood brass.
WE have been invited to see the Sukkah of the people we provide laurel too, going round mid afternoon tomorrow. I suspect they may offer us at last tea and biscuits. Should we bring anything and if so what?
Probably not essential but if you wanted to be polite, fruit or a plant would be good choices.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Nice new thread, thank you, Yorkie. I will post more tomorrow, do I really mean later today? 'Night all.0

I was wondering whether all of those bonuses you mention e.g. views, local arts / green space etc, are worth mentioning in the property particulars to somewhat offset the lack of photos and highlight how different it is from other properties which look similar but are much further away?
Or would people know this anyway?
People who live round here would prob know. People who lived elsewhere might not.
It is mentioned in some of the stuff, here's what it says on the EA site (don't quote will delete when get time and capability)

THE LOCATION
Predominately Victorian terraces of pressed red brick construction, the properties offer bright and spacious
accommodation suitable for modern life. The immediate area is established and offers an excellent range of
amenities including popular schooling covering all age ranges as well as a number of places of worship. A wide
selection of shopping facilities are available at Aigburth Vale, Aigburth Road or alternatively at Allerton Road
which offers a vibrant selection of wine bars, restaurants and bistros. Lark Lane, which is situated nearby,
offers a similar range of amenities to the aforementioned districts. Strong public transport services are
available in the immediate area including regular bus services along Aigburth Road as well as a number of
nearby main line railway stations. A comprehensive local road network connects to Liverpool city centre and
beyond and nearby motorway links allow easy access to further conurbations such as Warrington and
Manchester. Both national and international travel is provided for at the John Lennon Liverpool Airport. South
Liverpool is renowned for its excellent recreation ground and open space and the subject property is situated
close to Sefton Park with its Boating Lake and Palm House, the historic Sudley House and Gardens, and
Otterspool Promenade where you can enjoy fine riverside and Woodland walks as well as views of the River
Mersey and Wirral Peninsular.

It's not *house specific* I guess. Might try to put something together myself in a week or so after our jolly to London. Reading it now it's a bit EA speak. While correct for area it's not really about *our house*. (should say we can view Wirral Peninsular and Snowdonia from *our* house?)
Gotta go to bed now!0 -
What / when / where in London, Maggie?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Back door has window in it, half height, plus there is a small window to right of back door when you look at the floor plan thing that isn't shown. There's lots of stuff doesn't show on the floor plan.At least the extra window they gave us in Bedroom 1 initially has gone now. That would be false advertising. Fewer windows isn't I suppose?
Shed is lean to on house to left of back door, that's why no windows there.
Hope that makes sense?
OH's dream was always to make steps into shed and make it part of house as utility. Nice idea, but would have to get rid of original built in cupboards. Or do something complicated with chimney and space under - now that would be feasible but lottery win stuff! :rotfl:0 -

Talk by lovely internet friend (who have met in RL at Port Eliot Festival) DoveGreyReader at Persephone Books on Wednesday. Events here, it's the Lynne Hattwell dovegreyreader one we're going to.
We'll be staying with DD1 and family in Herne Hill.
Supposed to be travelling Monday, but given need to find papers for Accountant might not go till Tuesday. We'll see after mad search of piles of stuff in living room tomorrow. <roll eyes smilie, I do wish it would come back!>
Hmm, not sure answered all you asked, but gotta get to bed right now!0 -
Sounds very interesting - is it at the shop in Lamb's Conduit Street, in Bloomsbury?
Have you read Saplings? It's a very good book indeed, but very sad. She is one of those authors who can really get inside a child's head....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Mrs Generali is going through the papers for the tax. It looks like we'll get a fairly healthy lump back from the tax man.
I've taken the Generalissimos to the RSL and we're doing the meat raffle. We've won a tray of T-bones and a pair of chooks (dead) so far.0 -

But I have come away with: a brand new, still in the box, 1.5l slow cooker (£4) but no recipe book in it, a nice 15" square beige cushion (50p), a beck stole/collar thing in a furry animal print (50p) and a large orange swirl design heavy ceramic(?) 'fruit bowl' 50p.
Utterly .... freezing ... now.
You'll be able to find loads of slow cooker recipes online. Or go and read the Old Style board.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0
