Silver, I need your help. DH has won us tickets for Strictly in the ballot.
Would you arrive by train (using the local line but parking a bit further out), or park locally? What is there to do in the vicinity of the studios?
I wanted to pick your brains for local knowledge. Thanks in advance! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Fat cat sleeps at the bottom of the bed, whiney cat falls asleep on my lap as I am propped up reading. Last night I manoeuvred her to the side and there she slept all night.
At 6 the cat feeder goes off, my wife gets up and showers as soon as she gets out that is the cue for whiney cat to jump on the bed and wake with a long meow to receive her morning cuddle. I may add she only does this on week days never weekends.
What does she do at weekends?
Mine sleep under the covers usually. Which is much appreciated as I get very cold. 'Usual' is one on each side, but its not unusual for both to be on one side of me.
Mauve squeaker hates to have me turn my back on her. On a restless night if I am turning a lot she waits till I've turned lets out a little huffy sigh, gets up and walks round my head and snuggles down in to the crook of my arm again. Even if I move five times in ten minutes. :rotfl: If you cannot sleep she shuts sits awake with you purring and keeping you company.
One night fairly recently they curled up with fir and we all went to sleep. I woke up in the night ( not very usual for me, ) and saw the cats sitting just looking at his face and blinking at him.....'ah, he's so sweeeeeeet' sort of thing. Like we do to them.0 -

The cleaners are coming, the cleaners are coming!
Some how I seem to have made the house messier in preparation for their arrival, and as I'm broken ATM cannot do much about it, so just going to explain that their arrival has let me think about forgotten things....and tell them what stuff there was in that sofa!
The wiggly woggly dogs are going to have 'nap time' while they are here, so we're having extra cup of tea now. ( I feel sloshing with hot drinks and chilly from not doing stuff:( .
Later kiwi is being cleaned too but RP might have to drive him there0 -

There are a lot of great dancers this year, I'm sure you're in for a treat!0 -
Thanks all, I'm getting pretty stressed now. I gave myself an early mark from work and I don't really know what to do with myself.
In lieu of working out what to do with myself I've opened a bottle of wine. Cheers.
A bottle of wine is always a great idea.
Please bring us the good news as soon as you get it.0 -

Assume it is being filmed at the BBC studios in Clarendon Road?
Really depends what time you are going to arrive and how far you want to walk. It is about half a mile from the station.
You could park on the residential streets (your friendly NP could supply a visitors parking voucher). There should be room on the local streets but no guarantee. Only 3 roads are really that local to the BBC studios.
If you are going to be less than 3 hours there is parking in the local shopping centre, where you could enjoy the delights of the newly opened (but small) Debenhams, Argos, Boots, Next, Lidl, sports direct. Coffee at costa or starbucks.
Longer stay parking at Brook Road car park (pay and display), probably a 10 minute walk away.
Time you journey right and you could visit the library at 96
If it is being filmed at Shenley Road studios then you could park in Brook Road car park (P&D) (5 minutes walk) or the council offices car park (again P&D) or in Tesco next door. Tesco is officially limited to 3 hours, but I haven't heard of anyone getting a ticket. 10 minute walk to the shopping centre if you want the joys of Debenhams or there is a costa upstairs in tesco.
If you arrive by train it is a 10 minute walk to either site.
Parking charges so you can compare train/ driving costs. Forget Clarendon Road car park, there is never any spaces and nowhere to loiter while waiting for a space. Its also too cramped for anything bigger than a mini to manoeuvre.
As to what to do in the vicinity, there is a couple of parks, couple of coffee places, small shopping centre, a library, cinema.
Not that many decent restaurants - you'd be better off in Radlett for food. Best restaurant probably Zinco (noisy italian) on Shenley Road near the station. Don't know any decent pubs here either, if you are in the car you could try Mops & Broom in Shenley.
I would say park at me, but we are about half an hour walk away.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My house is in turmoil and stinks of vinegar.
I'm very happy.0
