Well it is a very large glass of a surprisingly tasty Italian red (even more surprising given how cheap it is), so you can't blame me for being distracted.

Lydia So glad DD liked the lady today. Will she still meet the others as well, or won't you bother now?
Yes we'll meet the others. Next one is tomorrow afternoon. Our level of hoarding and disorganisaton far surpasses that of any other NP including Lydia's DD
Really? How many rooms in your house are you actually unable to enter because the floor has entirely disappeared under the stuff?lostinrates wrote: »Huge bonus Lydia......all achieved and then relax time too!
I have different candles. Nice scented ones which are in sticks less often used but that I hope smell good and they look nice....a sort of deep cream, or honey comb, and then any odds and sods that are bought cheap
Y for rapid burning. ATM the cheap lot include old sets of broken gold ones and some plain cream ones. So, e.g. I have nice scented ones on cheese room mantel piece, which rarely get lit ATM, then cream on table and alter, which get lit very often.
I need some to look pretty in the candlesticks on the mantlepiece - but not get lit or they'll scorch the mirror frame. Then I need some scented ones to go on the fire surround at floor level that I can light.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Mine is Spanish. And I suspect that your idea of cheap wine and mine are significantly different!0 -
Thank you. A change would be nice. Don't hold your breath, though. I'm pretty good at making plans about my house. Following through on them is a different matter, though.
Rome wasn't built in a day and all that. Enjoy the achievements of the past few days. I'm sure there are more to come.0 -
I know the libraries do a lot more for the communities. Could they co-locate with coffee shops or something similar to help offset the overhead?
Our libraries have recently gone to being community-based, which was supported by both the library staff and the community.
Many libraries have internet access / PCs, plus coffee shops.
In one park the coffee shop has combined with a library outlet so you can take books out / return them and do so with a piece (large) of cake and a decent drink.PasturesNew wrote: »I'm going a bit stir crazy

His probably starts with a 99 £99.

There's a surprisingly good range of wines that are perfectly drinkable for less than a tenner a bottle, including my choice this evening.
There's virtually nothing drinkable for less than a fiver a bottle in the UK due to our taxes, sadly, but you can just about find something quaffable at that price in Europe.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Yup, mine was under a fiver :rotfl:. Around £4.50 I think. It's apparently £8ish a bottle when not on offer, depending on how much you believe that (I don't).0 -

You should definitely read this short article explaining exactly why sub-fiver wine is a very bad idea.....:D

It is quite amazing just how much better quality you get by paying a couple of quid more.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
