Re cars - mine'd be OK as I've got roof rack tracks it could be tied to.
I think the orange looks nice and cheery.
I wonder if there's such a thing as "a prickly plant that you can put into a window box one side of a fence/wall, say 1-2' below the top, that can then be trained to go up and over and down the other side" .... easier to chop something that's always at a reachable height
Or grow something that doesn't need much chopping. 'Climbing' ( using word loosely, which is dangerous, I might also mean rambler and scrambler) of appropriate size? Needs nowt done with it really...unless you are a fusser.

The suitcase is empty and has been brought up to the landing ready to go in the loft tomorrow.
The rest of the house is still unspeakable - we are nearing the end of half term, so we've all been in the house a lot more to cause mess, and the cleaner didn't come on Tuesday, so we didn't tidy it then. I am trying to focus on the suitcase as progress. :undecided
I fell asleep in the afternoon and didn't phone the therapists. I did, however, have a useful conversation about them with DD in which she retracted her earlier retraction of her willingness to see them. So that's progress. I'll phone them tomorrow, honest, guv.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Tried to log in earlier and it wouldn't let me, thought it was just me but it seems the whole forum has been down for an hour or so. Weird.
Yeah you're right Yorkie, they do say it's easier to find a job when you've got one, so that's what I'm thinking. It would be great experience too, and I liked the people who interviewed me, so it wouldn't be so bad.
I got an email today from one of the better recruitment firms (you soon work it out) about an opportunity just outside London that are looking for a recent grad but paying £10,000 more than the one I've just interviewed for. It's all a bit frustrating.
Tomorrow night is definitely on with F (German). Looking forward to it
Oh, and I phoned the Student Loans people and they're giving me my £112 back! Yay!“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
Well done with the suitcase Lydia. That's a victory in my eyes :j0

Honestly some days if I go to the supermarket that feels like a massive win“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

Thank you. I am 100% certain I would not have done it if I hadn't specifically told the NP that I would do that particular thing today.Honestly some days if I go to the supermarket that feels like a massive win
Thank you.

And nice and warm. And clean.
Edit: hope your scan went ok ( its the going in that freaks me out, and less so the coming out, but the going in bit I HATE...in their I think its quite nice...cosy) and results are good.
It does make you feel warm, the noise didn't bother me too much, however other health issues made me unwell all morning which made it unpleasant. Expecting Dr to cry off cutting out jelly bits and tell me to get fitter, which is not easy given my list of complaints.PasturesNew wrote: »You know it's not that simple... once they're up, she'll change her mind. No chance of that swatches were ordered plus its too cold to not have curtains and these were not cheap, although I do need to get dear old mum to alter the drop. When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -
Well done Lydia...I achieved exactly nothing in the house today apart from running the hoover around the front room.
Youngest however, achieved a huge thing, after many many months of will he, won't he, he said he wanted to have his hair cut. For many this is not a huge thing, for him it is absolutely massive, evident in the fact his hair had reached to just above his bottom in length. I wasted no time in taking him to the hairdresser (not our regular place, a new one for us, another big thing for him) and he has had it cut short, shorter than when he was younger.
He is a little eek tonight but coping well and I must say, by goodness I have handsome offspring :rotfl:
He also came up with what I thought was a good analogy of his autism....he says he has a gate and sometimes the gate is open, sometimes it is shut and sometimes the gate shuts and locks very tightly and he can't get the real him out.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Sue, running the hoover around the house is more than I achieved yesterday. So you get a :j too
:j for youngest too. Sounds like he's braver than I am with haircuts!
Edit: Lydia - looking forward to an update on the phonecall to the therapist0
