I don't really care about specs, all I care about is the user experience I get, of which the iPhone is the best you can currently get.

So what made you move to the iphone 6?

In your opinion. Some will agree with you others will disagree.

My personal opinion is that for what the majority of users do on smart phones and tablets i.e browse the internet, go on Facebook, watch movies etc they are heavily overpriced.

I don't. I think they'd be better off getting an iPhone.

It could have just as easily been, but I'd already had a 5S a few months ago.

So why 'upgrade'? You seem to be saying specs dont matter and the iphone is the best due to IOS.
You dont care about specs,so why change? Your 5S runs 8.
So seems there is nothing in paying for an iphone 6 for you?

I change because I'm a techy and its my passion. iPhones keep their value so well that you can buy/sell without the same sort of outlay as you get with other devices.

You're techy but dont care about specs? Seems a strange idea.
If you have bought into the Apple uograde cyycle then thats fine. However its a juxtaposition to be 'techy' and not care about specs.
You have just posted people should get an iphone as its the best for browsing the internet, watching moves, facebook etc.
Really? movies on those smaller than average screens?

I've used iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry.

    Blackberry is dying.
    Windows phone is horrible.
    Android is a bit clunky.
iPhone does what it says on the tin.

In my case, I've just been given an iPhone 6 for work.
I think it's too big and I prefer my personal iPhone 5.
I do like the fingerprint recognition button though.

Never heard of anyone watching a film on a mobile so I'd never consider that a requirement for a smartphone. Being pocketable and able to use one-handed would be a big priority.

Normobs care about specs because they don't understand what they mean and they get wowed by quad-core this and 3GB that. Techies like me understand that those specs are essentially meaningless because it's the software that counts.
