Normobs care about specs because they don't understand what they mean and they get wowed by quad-core this and 3GB that. Techies like me understand that those specs are essentially meaningless because it's the software that counts.
:rotfl: :rotfl:
Loads of people I know watch films on their phones (although I do admit, sometimes, being able to use it one handed at the same time does have it's advantages)

Not quite sure how someone breaking their phone to gain Youtube views has any relevance.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -

Yeah it would need to go viral for him to get anywhere near recovering his considerable outlay for the iphone 6.0 -
So you're saying that an iPhone is cheaper to upgrade than other brands...0

I think the 2.5 million views has probably covered it.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
mrochester wrote: »That's funny because from my experience Android is the poorer experience. iOS has been great for me, and enjoyable to use. Android is a battle at times. It tries too hard to be a computer in your pocket instead of a smartphone. Windows Phone is better, but not quite at iOS levels.
Sadly there's currently no decent alternative to iOS. I could use Android and Windows Phone, but I wouldn't actively pick them when there's better available. Sadly, most people who don't know better think that Android and WP are equivalent to iOS. It's just ignorance, nothing else.
Hopefully as manufacturers start abandoning Android once they've realised they're nothing more than pawns for Google, we'll start to get some better alternatives.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

In what way was that a ridiculous post?
An earlier post said:It may define Apple, but, I don't think that it sets them apart any more. Other manufacturers have caught up, quality wise, in there high end models.
People often get confused when comparing low end phones from others with iPhones.....They no longer come out on top as a given, but, they do make excellent phones.
I think it's pointless entering into the X is best argument any more, so much is down to personal preference. It's a shame that some just can't see that there personal choice doesn't mean it's best....;):D
Thereby giving the opinion that the phones are equivalent.
mrochester gives his opinion that the other phone operating systems are not as good as IOS but that most people don't know or realise that (or in other words are ignorant of it).
But has anybody come back and said that Android (or WP - bwaaaahhhh! :-)) are as easy to use/intuitive as IOS? I don't think so; the first time I used Android I couldn't answer a phone call!
Has anybody asserted that Google or Amazon's app stores are as integrated as Apple's? I don't think they are.
Has anybody observed that the messages app on a Mac is integrated with your iPhone's SMS messaging, so that you can text from your Mac if that's more convenient to you?
How about the integration between Apple's iPhone/iPad/AppleTV products - has anybody mentioned that? Do any other companies offer such a level of cross-functionality?
There are more things which could be listed, of course...
And not knowing that is, by definition, being ignorant of it.
The fact is that Apple's offerings form a coherent product range, and that is a great strength which other companies don't have.0 -
Yes but apples stuff only works within its own eco system. Have you ever tried to stream anything from an apple device to TV without needing an extra box in the form of apple tv? It's a right PITR, I can tell you. On the other hand my android phone can communicate directly with all sorts of other devices using open standards.
Also I would say Android is more intuitive than iOS but I realise that is subjective since I use Android as my main device.
The bottom line is I can generally do everything I need to do with either an Android or Apple device so the two systems are indeed equivalent as far as I'm concerned.0
