Our cat sleeps on the bed if he wishes, generally at the bottom of my side as OH will move him off his side! Soem nights he stays all night, others he splits his time between bed, windowsill and hallway. If OH's kids aren't here (they stay 3 nights a week) then he likes to sleep on the top bunk bed instead. He is good as gold though and never disturbs us for food or anything, I try to make sure his bowl is full of dried food before bed. He does occasionally take sneaky sips out of my glass of water though!!

mine is curled up on the blanket at the bottom of the bed.
until we got her i never thought i would let a cat on the bed, but she is no trouble and does not seem to shed much hair.

I love having Barnes sleep with me - I don't much like if he wakes me by sneezing in my face though. but, he snores quite gently, and its comforting.
I have cured Barnes of curling up on the pillow on top of my head. I put one of those crocodile clips in my hair! and he now sleeps either against my back or my tummy. mmmmm - like a hot, purring water bottle. he gets bored after a while though and goes to look out the window, then goes downstairs where he finds the settee more to his liking.
First cat Timmy never, ever, slept with anyone. Second cat Nicki never went upstairs unless it was to the bathroom for his litter tray.
  • All our cats have slept on our bed. As they aged we had to buy furry dog steps as with their arthritis they couldn't jump up anymore. Two sets covered bed and sofa!:)

My cat sleeps on the bed whenever he feels like it. After all, he knows full well that it actually belongs to him (he rubbed his face on it which apparently makes him the legal owner) he is just kind enough to allow the humans to use it.
Normally he will curl up on the bed while I read at night, but as soon as the light goes off he hops down and finds another spot for the night. I think he gets annoyed with my fidgeting and wants to be left in peace!
If anyone doesn't let their cat sleep on the bed I would like to know how! Its very difficult to prevent cats from doing what they want so I'd be impressed if anyone can train their cat not to get in the bed!

Do I let my cats sleep with me? No. THEY let ME share the furniture (bed and settee) with them. I have no choice in the matter LOL.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Our cat is allowed to sleep in our room during the day, we do however cover our bed in a blanket so that we don't have to share her hair, she has never been allowed to go into our children's bedrooms. During the night she sleeps in a basket in the hallway, as a kitten she would ask to come into our room by crying and scratching the door, we ignored her so she would learn that crying and scratching didn't get her anywhere.
