Do you let your cats sleep with you

I always let my two cats sleep on the bed with me at night as I find it comforting, but then its in the morning when they want their food they keep pawing at me to get up and this morning one of them was sat on my face and I dreamt I was suffocating. Oh and not to mention all the cat hairs on the duvet cover.
But I do love having them with me at night and wouldn't like to keep them out of the bedroom now they are used to it.
Any views on this?

I've always let y cats sleep on or in my bed. I've never had any problems with them waking me for food though!! My old Sugar girl used to sleep on my pillow next to my head and when it was cold she'd nudge the duvet until i lifted it so she could creep in and have cuddles.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500

Our eldest cat peeps with us and always has. The 2 ginger boys sleep on bed but not when we in it and sleep downstairs or are outside at night. It's upto them though not us lolHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Yep. Usual wake up calls/nudges/scratches/pawing for food start at around 4am. It's just what goes with having her. If I shut the door, she would just scratch at that instead like a lune.
I brush mine to minimise hairs , and she doesn't cause a problem with that really.
Youtube 'Simons cat' wake up. I can't post links on my phone.
It's all perfectly normal.....lol.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I can think of very little which repels me more than having animals on / in my bedJohn0

One of my cats often gets under the duvet with me in the cold weather but usually she will sleep either on one of my pillows or on the duvet. She takes up most of the bed though as she tends to stretch out as far as she can to get the most space! I prefer it when she sleeps on the pillow as she takes up less room. She also snores quite loudly!
When she wakes in the morning and wanting her food, I get claws "kneading" my scalp and she tugs at my hair. Big wake up call which I forget about when shampooing my hair...all I can say is....ouch!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

The more the merrier. We have a couple that like to sleep paw in hand with my husband, one that likes to sleep between the wall and myself, another that likes to sleep on my pillow and more who like to sleep with us dotted around the room.
If my husband is in bed on his own he can have up to five actually on / in bed with him, I don't think it has ever been more than that. When I get in some usually leave. In winter it is very noticable that there are more cats hanging around indoors.

All my 4 boys sleep wherever they want - Teddy always just sleeps at my feet, I don't even know he is there he is so good.
Fred sometimes gets under the duvet to cuddle up with me. Kind of along me so again no bother. Macius - this one does tend to claim on my face, wrap himself over my head etc etc, he is a pest and will paw me through the night when he feels like having a cuddle/ear scratched, belly rubbed.
George never ever sleeps with me - he sleeps on my bed when I am not there but as soon as I get in the bed, George is off LOL0 -
One of mine sleeps on the bed with me. The other is antisocial and hates everyone haha.
He will get up and cuddle in for some attention. The. When he gets bored he goes to the bottom of the bed and stretches out. He will wake me up sometimes. But there's always food out so it's not that but for some reason he will decide at 5am he wants attention and I can't go back to sleep until he gets it!Sigless0 -
Our cats have always had the option to sleep on our bed. With our previous 2 boys, I remember waking up once to find both staring at me, one on either shoulder ~ was like The Shining twins!!
Our latest recruit varies, sometimes he'll sleep in from when we go to bed, other times he'll launch himself at my hubby or sleep on his pillow...he seems to have learnt I don't wake easily. It can be for food or to be let out (even though he knows how to use the cat flap) or he gets you up and then sits at top of the stairs looking at you....he can be a nightmare as does urinate in the house (although perfectly house trained) so you don't want to just ignore him.....0 -

both my cats have always come upstairs to bed with us, and they both would sleep on the bed with me. Previous cat would sleep as long as I did, and wouldn't stir or move until I got up the next morning.
Current cat is a pain in the rear anytime between 4am and occasionally as late as 7am - he will settle down to sleep on the bed no problem at my bedtime, but when he decides it may be time to me to get up (which is most definitely not 4am) he makes little mewing noises (very cute) and comes up to the pillow and paws at my arms or head or nose, until I get up, put him outside the room, and shut the door. He occasionally has a yell at me through the door, but most often he will just settle down to sleep on the landing carpet, and wait until I do actually get up for the day, when he gets cuddles, food and fresh water.
Ed has been with us for over a year, and he's never grown out of this, so I've just got used to getting out of bed in half-sleep to put him out of the room and close the door.0
