It was so windy here the sand was blasting away on the beach - I'm as smooth as a pebble. No features - red raw I am.

It sounds like plastic sheeting and pegs for our noses will be the order of the day for when we transport kitty up to Scotland  The vet has suggested Feliway for when we arrive. We haven't approached the landlord yet so not definite it's happening anytime soon anyway. Something happening tomorrow may force the issue, fingers crossed please ;)

Still glorious weather here and I'm still up to my ear lobes in DIY instead of being out in the sunshine. :(

Had a bidding match with someone on an eBay car trade disposal site the other night and stopped at my max. :A Today, the car's relisted, so the other person either didn't like what they saw, or they were a time waster. Trouble is, I don't know which! :undecided With that site, you're allowed reject the car without penalty, so long as you turn up to inspect it within 2 days.

Anyway, I'm off to Wales to look at another. No bridge fee now :D, but I may have to take an ear trumpet Can't understand the owner on the phone, as he's very softly spoken.:shhh: Apparently, he has to sell the car because his girlfriend thinks it's too old and naff! He's not exactly coming on to me with the big sell.:rotfl:

Fingers crossed for tomorrow poppy and hope the warmth has reached you now choille. :)

    :grin:How are the teeth, alfie?

Best of luck pinkpoppy on the move.

15 degrees in Inverness today. i was at the hospital all day so didn't feel the benefit of it but last night there was a gale. Hardly slept at all. In the morning the beautiful splash orpington cockerel Captain Splashy was dead in the hen house. Don't know why but he & two of his girls haven't been wanting to go in there - maybe the gale - I don't know.
Been a long day. I'm pooped.

We made it to Wales and back, and we have a 'new' car, but I've learned my lesson regarding sat-nav. It's only recently we've started leaving the maps at home....

Someone, who shall be nameless, had fiddled with Gladys, our sat nav, and somehow set her to 'avoid all tolls.' Crucially, I'd not updated her for a year either, so you can guess why Gladys kept insisting we had to go over the Severn at Gloucester!

Well, no big deal, but having been forced against her will to go over the Severn, Bridge, where she shouted something like 'This decision is not reversible!' Gladys went into meltdown, took us off the M4 and we ended up lost around Usk. It's nice there, but it was totally wrong.

So...DW took out Miriam, who runs on her phone, and then things got really interesting, with the two of them arguing at every junction. I unplugged Gladys for her own safety, but Miriam used-up so much battery, her reign was relatively short-lived.

Luckily, Gladys had calmed-down and forgotten all about Gloucester when we switched her on again, but she still went along some scary routes.....Amazingly, we arrived bang on time.

There was the car, and there was the man we'd just texted in the car.....Hurrah!:j We parked-up, walked to the vehicle, smiled and...he totally ignored us and carried on chatting on his phone. Odd!....OK.... so we started wandering around the car, prodding it, looking under it , checking the tyres and trying to look knowledgeable. Still no reaction. Not even eye contact.:undecided

Then a horrible realisation dawned....this was an '05, not an '06....it was not the car!!! :o:o:o And at that very moment the man said,"Can I help you?"

We explained. He fell about laughing. The car we wanted was 100m away up the hill, and these cars came with his personal recommendation. :)

Long story short, the car we came to see was better and I couldn't fault it without being unrealistically picky, so it was a done deal.

Flaked-out when we got home. Not long surfaced....middle of the night and still the cats won't speak to me! Deserted them, didn't we?:rotfl:

    Sorry about your cockerel, choille.

Dave, I've nothing useful to add, but just love your posts and read them even if I'm not interested in the subject matter.

But this one is unbeatable. Thank you!

Oh, Dave glad that all ended well in the end. Have to agree - hilarious.

Overcast here but the wind has died & the rain ceased - it was torrential through the night after threatening all day yesterday. It is milder and most of the snow is off the tops now.

Managed to get the hall cleared of all clutter yesterday that has been settling there for too long. It looks so much bigger as things do when empty.
