reminds me when son set off with his mates in my car to go to cornwall [south] for surfing etc ... so car crammed... and with sat navs help ended up in Bristol in a place with a similar name [typo on sat nav ! ] he rang me and I asked did they not notice the surrounding signs ? no , he said . they were all chatting and singing !! I suggested [to GROWN men] that they put in the correct address on the sat nav ......
they did get there eventually..
ive learnt to go as far as I know without the sat nav THEN put in address ... I do tend to wing it and just keep going till I see something I recognise .....
had a super riding lesson with pie and rose this morning..he really is a little gem and we did some road work today ... cars.tractor, bikes didn't phase him so fair play to the lady that sold him to us ...he does do what it says on the tin ! a rare person indeed to be truthfull with a sale !
ive just emptied the back of my car [to fit the 6ft model yacht in ! ] and I would like to say im amazed at what came out but it was quite tame compared to previous empties ... im just hoping we can get it into the flat its going to ... as its sandbanks poole im hoping its a lux pad that has easy access !!
im also getting a 4 month pup to foster next weekend ! its a shepherd x with a st Bernard x ... so sizeable but IM SO EXCITED ! told a friend this morning and she just laughed and said "fostering ? yeh " ... as if .....0 -
Alfie - How gorgeous. She looks like my collie wobble - same colour. Just look at the size of those paws! Gonna grow up big.
Been to Nairn & Forres today for a change of scene. Went looking at a new 'village' they've been building - like lego land with street scapes. It's all a bit too shiny & artificial. Quite weird to see all these really quite young people in their new cars & in the tiny patches of garden putting in plants - these houses will be expensive beats me how they can afford them.
Too twee but I suppose they do appeal to many.0 -
well I was up most of the night with chronic lower stomach pains ... crippling spasms etc... went to docs today as still felt like id been kicked by a hoss and he THINKS I have diverticulitus sp? but having oogled it im not so sure ! I have to go for blood tests tomorrow and am on anti B's [penecillan ? ] .... we will see... just know ive been walking like im trying to lay an egg today !!
I delivered the yacht model yesterday and managed to get it up the stairs to their apartment ...just ! they were happy anyway.. just got to sell a corner sofa I bought my son who has now decided its not what he wants !! ...bl**dy kids !
got to cancel the farrier tomorrow as I don't think I can manage that !
not often I feel like poop but today's the day .....0 -
Hope everything turns out okay health wise Alfie. Good to find out so you can get something to ease it.
Poured down here & gales most of the day so not done much at all other than visit ex neighbour & walk the collie Wobble who is drying out in front of the stove. Stinky winky - nowt much worse than wet dog smell.
OH had a couple of client visits to do so I got dropped off en route.
loads of goat kids hatching out all over the place. Course Collie Wobble barks his head off at them.0 -

I have diverticulosis, was diagnosed in London when we were visiting our DD1 and family there a couple of years ago. At that time I had diverticulitis, and was OK after antibiotics. Diverticulitis is an infection of the diverticulosis IYSWIM.
Apparently (and I agree from personal experience) it tends to be accompanied by pain on the lower left side of abdomen. Below line of belly button.
Strangely enough there was an article about it in The Grauniad today.

If you read the responses to it, some are useful, and some are a load of carp. Even some of the useful replies may not work for everyone - we're all different.
Currently I have sachets of powder that I have to dissolve in water and drink down every day. I drink between half and 3 quarters depending on how my guts have been working day before. (sorry if TMI!)
I take the drink after breakfast, I have no idea if that's the best time, but it seems to work relatively OK for me. Some people have to take more than one of these sachets I think. Again, this is prob TMI but I try to take sufficient so my guts keep working, but not so much to give the squits. It's all a bit of trial and error at the start, but still is now!
Hope your guts feel better soon dear Alfie!0 -

Me too, not much worse than grumbling guts!
Reminds me, I haven't seen anything of the Jerusalem artichokes I stuck in a pot to bring on......:undecided
Little to report from here, except that the village is getting a PO back after an 8 year gap. :j
Oh, and Horse Woman is going to use the orchards for a bit of extra (supervised) grazing till her grass grows back better and donate all her muck for Pete to spread on the fields.0 -
im not sure if ive missed the light bulb moment between grumbling guts and your artichokes ,dave !!
well im grounded for a few days .... apparently if I don't I could rupture and be very ill ...... when doc says if pain gets worse call an ambulance ...me finks he was serious !!!! well its not worse but not better . had my blood tests this morning and now im just slobbing around ... I HATE BEING OFF KILTER !0 -
Hope you feel better very soon, alfie. Please do what the Dr ordered
Have you had a definite diagnosis?? Ps, put an 'f' in front of artichokes and you have your grumbling guts :rotfl:

Ventured back into the weed patch today and brutalised assorted climbing roses and berry canes I neglected to deal with earlier. If it all sulks for a year, I'll live [strike]particularly as I have bag after bag of frozen berries from last summer cluttering up the freezer[/strike], but I have a suspicion that they'll all go absolutely crazy now, particularly as they were just beginning to show signs of springing into life, rather than being actively growing. I only took out large dangling bits from my beloved rambling rose and shortened a few bits I kept/bent them over, so that'll be able to do its own thing again this year.
My old half barrel decided being moved two foot was the last insult and disintegrated, so I now have a shallow bed on top of paving slabs, as I corralled the compost into a corner with some boards. I give it at least an hour before it's repurposed as a litter tray [strike]as Idiot Cat is currently snoring on the coffee table[/strike].
My spring tine rake has fallen to pieces. It was a cheap plastic one and the plastic shattered. At least the dork and spade are still functional.
Just got to litterpick out the front and I'm ready to waste money on some new plants...I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
