The naked ladies are belladonna lilies which wouldn't survive here, but I prefer nerine bowdenii, because it has a much more 'natural' looking habit.

Ours have been waterlogged out on our front drive area for the last two wet winters and they've just shrugged it off. Must've been there through 2009/10 winter too. :)

Yes, I like them, and we'll have some in the back when we have a garden there.

    morning all,

what a flipping night!!! thunder and lightening through the evening and night, REALLY heavy rain.. very strong gusts of wind... Its only just calming down... but I am not holding my breath that it hasn't cleared up/finished yet..

I think there is going to be some serious damage around the place.. I dread to think how many leaks there are in the works roof, and when it gets lighter I am going to do a quick look around the ranch to check things,..

I have already phoned our boys back home,,, and instead of youngest catching a bus to work, hubby is going to take him

whats it been like with you? bad?

Not too bad here. Brisk, but not awful.

Weirdly, the gritter went past last night.

Things flapped around a lot last night and other things fell over, but besides being blustery, it's OK now. :)

Mr Rod's hole has filled up. Nothing is going away. I will 'await developments with interest,' as they say. ;)

Think I know where all this will lead now, longer term, but of course one rarely knows enough! In my dreams I have visions of a nice duck pond where Mr Rod is currently re-enacting the Somme....:rotfl:

    2nd day of man-flu here :(

Outside thermometer showed a min of 5, so am now moving more pot-plants into the conservatory rather thank risk frosting.
  • rain, thunder, and some lightening, still happening here, but the wind has died own a bit..

suppose to be doing a produce market on Saturday, trying out my surplus quail eggs lol... it will be my luck, the weather will be the same, and no one will be there looking/buying lol,

Think what ever happens this week end we'll have to take down one of the old plums in the back garden. Its heavily covered with ivy and rocks around in the wind and isn't very productive.

Its in a slightly awkward place by a wall, but better we bring it down than it comes down......its always managed to drop down the list before now but think, looking at it while I type, it better go!
