Brilliant amount of money raised Dave - it's so good that asmall place can do that.
Hope Dolly is fine Alfie - It's so nice to see such lovely photos of your family.
Neighbour really not well and wife is nearly 90 - it's amazing how strong she is but she is starting to buckle. I think things are coming to a head one way or another.
Sky gone all inky and very low cloud - looks very moody - will feed the sheeps early I think.0 -
hi all....
my dolly is not brilliant but maybe only to be expected as she's quite a hefty girl and its quite an OP !!!
she isn't eating much and normally she would eat ANYTHING ! I made her scrambled egg last night but no ....
she has a check up Saturday morning so if she's no worse by then, they will tell me if a problem...
cor , the wind was strong today ! no rain tho which was a blessing... huge tree down just up the road this morning and my garden furniture went for a stroll !
wonder how CTC faired, they seem to have been in its path...0 -
Hope Dolly has picked-up and found her appetite this morning, alfie.
Sorry, no idea about the horses; I only breed dahlias!
The chocolate has an advisory date. The largest confectionery company in the country wouldn't sell it if there was a problem, and it's still less than a month since it was purchased, Chocs are OK for months, assuming good storage. Remember iron rations?
We escaped the worst of Doris, but it was still pretty uncomfortable outdoors yesterday, so I began attacking the conservatory floor, which is a mix of rubble, bricks etc overlaid with sand. I have to remove all the rubble by sieving it all and then hope I'm deep enough with just a bed of sand left. This depth is needed to get a load of solid insulation into the floor.
There's 30m2 of it and I've done about 3 so far.....:undecided
Edit: Oh, and there was a review of the Panto in the paper. Apparently I was "surprising and funny," or something like that. Well, they always knew I was a bit odd! :rotfl:0 -
dave... a friend had all the floors in part of a very old [no damp course] house dug out [to also raise head height aswell] . they put in what I can only describe as what looked like big grey lightweight pebbles that allow moisture / air to move. liner then it was then screeded over the top. made such a difference !
mind you for the money she paid for the place [M's] it turns out pre owner was a tight fisted bodger who didn't know a tradesman if they hit him !! so a large can of worms was found through out the house. what was a couple of months work is now hitting the 9 month mark..... TOTAL refurb , including the damp problem in the kitchen being a tiled over WELL with no overflow !!!.... it will be amazing when finished tho.0 -
The stuff I'd put under the concrete would be this, but it's a bit cheaper buying a generic from my building place:
http://www.wickes.co.uk/Celotex-100mm-High-Performance-Insulation-Board-GA4000-100-x-1200-x-2400mm/p/161255
There's a proper DPC and there will be a DPM too, so no damp probs.
Got about 6m2 done now....only 4x that amount to go!

I would put Tilly in with the stallion, unless you could manage to put both mares in?Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

hiya rummer
the thing is we KNOW we are not going to part from the foal ! [if we get one] as we have 10 hairy monsters at the mo.... adding 2 is a bit silly ....:o adding 1 is less silly
ruby has resorted to being a brat again, wont be caught easily, wont do a lot really except look glamourus ! so don't want a foal that follows suit so I think tilly it is ............
it is still very windy here but dry. the temp really dropped last night so lit the fire and was really cosy.
dolly passed muster at the vets this morning , she's just very tender. wound is healing well.. she has lost point 1 kilo in 3 days... she needs to lose at least 2 kilo's tho so slowly does it
got my boy sitting tonight, lets hope the are not too hyper ... I may have to join in...:rotfl:0 -
Hiya Rummer - Hope all is well with you and your tribe.
Today was cold & showery, but managed to do a bit outdoors which was good to get out & get an airing.
Supposed to be getting some more wood delivered but the date keeps changing & getting further off. We need it to finish decking around wherewe want the porch, so it is holding things up.0
