All is in order for my slightly OCD Christmas. Sorted!
Shopping done (last fresh bread bought today; next shop next Friday or later).
Animals all trained to go three-by-three, as is meant at this time of year, or summat. Or is that Easter?
That's the asses sorted. Nice a55!
Sheep, stand to attenshun! Left TURN! QuiicK MARCH!
We are six months ahead of Showtime, and they walk to heel as a threesome! Sheepsheep trials, here we come! My Koo Kluck Klan white doves have settled back to being doves of piece (or pieces, when the neighbour's feral cat gets one ), and all the wild birdies are fed to bursting. Doves rehousing now a success, most blocks occupied, and the little minx who'd set up a home with a.. dusky... well youknowwhat... pigeon!, she's back in the fold, and he's been accepted (except they probably point a wing at him now and then, and say something uncoooth.... but he's easily the brightest of the bunch, and rather dashing
) Even given holly & ivy decoration to their tenement blocks.
No oxen to low, so hoping a goat will serve for seasonality. If they ever come down from the trees! Goats nest in trees, apparently, or so they tell me....There are partridges about, but it's a pheasant that squawks its way into the pear tree. Then falls off. Why are "game" birds so UNgamey? They are like the (stereotype alert) fat, ginger nerd at school at team-picking time... "I'll have Roberts"... "I'll have Smith"... "I'll have Parkinson"... "Oh, Oh, Sir? Do I have to have Speccy Sanders, Sir? Please can we play a man short, Sir?" Sanders blushes, steps forward, laces undone, and falls over, getting a nosebleed.... Why claim it's a "sport", and breed a bright-coated, almost-flightless, petrified-squawking idiot of a bird that's utterly defenceless and thinks a fence is a barrier to escape!
Anyway, they all seek refuge here, and they are welcome (until feed bills bankrupt us, then we'll eat the feathered fleckers!)
House is a mess, but you can't see it too badly, as I've unplugged the civilised standard lamps, and plugged in my vile flashing Christmas ones. Tree goes up tonight. Oven cleaned, freezer and fridge bulging, extension built to the drinks cupboard, by turfing out some books from a bookcase.
Anyway, although I pretend the chaos is sorted, I suspect you suspect I know it isn't quite so sorted! Plenty more mud to wallow in, holes to fall in, and trees to fall down!
Have a peaceful few days, and a very VERY
:xmassign:
:xmastree:
Edit to add: Well, the superb organisation lasted less than an hour... for the first time in 30 years of having wheelie bins, I put the wrong (half full) one out, not the already full to bursting one!

Fay is bang-on with the wishes for a healthy 2017. I'll second that!:beer:0 -
Sadly my wishes for a healthy 2017 don't seem to extend to this year. I have a rotten cold and swollen sinuses. I feel dreadful and should be back to work tomorrow. This was caught from a colleague who csme into work very ill so I'm loathe to do the same to others but I will get moaned at if I don't go in. I will have to see how I feel tomorrow, I have had approximately four hours of sleep since Christmas Eve0
-
Oh Fay, that's really bad luck!
I used to face similar dilemmas when I worked, so I'd stagger in and carry on, rather than face the chaos that could be wrought by several different supply teachers. However sometimes I just couldn't....and if you can't, then you shouldn't either!
DD1 and family arrived here last Friday with their usual colds and ailments, but they slept quite a lot, so left this afternoon looking healthier. They were at the beach yesterday, which must have been.... err...bracing!
I went hedging for an hour or two a day over Christmas, but I still feel very fat.
Hope everyone has survived the festivities.
We had an email back from the conservatory company, enclosing replies from the roof manufacturers and their suppliers. I don't think they understood these fully, because the replies weren't helpful to them at all. Instead, they appear to have given us extra ammunition. . Very odd! :undecided0 -
Well I've had to take the day off. I didn't sleep at all again last night and my head really does feel like it might explode. I will try and get a telephone consultation with a GP as I'm not sure there is much they can do for a possible sinus infection.
On the plus side, feeling ill has meant I haven't over indulged. I've had about 6 glasses of wine in the last week and no chocolate, cake or sweets!0 -
well folks... that's it for another year
my xmas was quiet.. which was great for me..
LIR arrived xmas eve with 2 ginormous cakes much to my sons delight ! one disappeared with him to the fire station on xmas day:D he said there was not one call out... boring for him but good news for the turkeys :rotfl:
