Just got back from hostiple. Cough turned to choke, turned to not being able to breathe, so turned purple. Had full blown allergic runaway. Joined the living dead in A&E and bunged on steroids and oxygen. Back now, bit confused but ok. Still glad there's a vet snoring beside me... She was a bit useful.

I don't know for sure, but there have been many who've joined in and then disappeared within a few posts. As you've survived longer than that, I think you might be OK.... it's not us you're allergic to.:D
But do you know what set it off? Do you have to rinse & repeat yesterday to find out?
I have a new symptom, but I'm not saying what it is yet, I have a nasty feeling it might be back-related though.
Yesterday was chaotic. A member of the family, almost from the antipodes, arrived suddenly via Moscow, so the clan members were summoned to attend. Some went "Eh? Wot? Me phone's not working!" and drove in the opposite direction, arriving here, just as we were heading off the other way. Others went to get their extremities pierced, but we found ourselves once again on the M5....:undecided
Besides that, we also found ourselves being shown around a posh property where the owner was deceased, now sold and just waiting for the clearance men. We were told "Help yourself to anything without a ticket on it," so we came away with a rather nice original watercolour.
Some days are just odd! :rotfl:0 -
Ok at the mo. Not 100% and still wheezing and coughing, but much better. I have NO desire to repeat, if possible, Dave. I do get bad hayfever, normally runs out about now, or a couple of weeks. I did have a cold a week ago, and that inflamed my throat. That got worse with hayfever, swole up like a ripe plumb, and I was off choking, which swelled it up the last bit left to wheeze through!
The hump, Dave, is to be expected, just start wearing rags and a mask, and you'll be perfectly cast for the Christmas panto musical... A mask may help ....
(late edit: noting the repeat of "mask"... maybe I'm not as all-there as I think! Hmmm)0 -
I've been lurking these last few weeks
1) There's been no summer at all in Scotland, so gardening has been a pain not a pleasure; basically watching the rain come down
2) I've been doing some mods on the car which has taken my time
Rescue orchid I got for £2 (brassia?) has been thriving on neglect -0 -
Cute Piggy CTC.
Dafty - hope you're recovered and taking things easy.
My arm has improved with the help of drugs and alcohol... so I've managed to clear quite a bit more weed from the stream, break up an old fence post for kindling and start tackling the pile of old floorboards and bits of staircase that either need to be cut up for firewood or taken to the tip (if painted). I haven't managed to start the mower though - still too feeble.
I'm not looking forward to having to get back to grips with work tomorrowand there is still an awful lot of clearing up to do from the building work.

Dafty - you need to find out what caused the allergy. OH has had bouts of it & now has to take anti-histimines for a year. His face & tongue would swell up something alarming & it's a long way to A&E here - 60 miles.
IHS - the weather is pants. Glad I didn't do much planting of veg as it would be water logged like last year. The flower looks amazingly beautiful & spidery.
Rained all day & half light - went back to bed this afternoon as I felt jiggered with OH coughing all night, so got some kip then.
Dave you sound like you have a family gathering on the go.
I've been trying to contact an elderly relative all week & there's no reply - so a little concerned.0 -

Sold some bits & pieces on the bay so not all is doom & gloom. Not a fortune, but it all helps.
The guy who I got my sythe from was on Country File earlier - Simon Fairlie, so that was coincidence. Haven't got out with it as yet. Been so wet.
Elderly relative has been ill & been for MRI as he keeps falling over. He's such a nice guy - glad his daughter lives nearby. Glad I maanged to get hold of him eventually.0 -
