Happy Birthday CTC & Dafty Duck:bdaycake::bdaycake:

Sounds like a menagerie Alfie - Pups & kits & Gosslings.

LIR - How lovely to 'see' you again. Take care X

Dave - Hope you sell doors okay. Maybe Gumtree would be worth a try, although I've listed some big stuff on there but not a peep from anyone.

Massive thunderstorm through the night - the noise & the flashes were really amazing.

Still torrential rain here, just as well I picked my blackcurrants yesterday & they are straining through a jelly bag & did mega washing, git it out & dried to a crisp in the heatwave.

Grey, muggy & wet today - yurk, OH coughing his socks off still. He actually went & slept in the caravan last night to let me sleep. Bless him & was kept awake with the thunder & downpour.

    Happy birthday CTC and Dafty

Lovely weather here still (sorry Choille) but far to hot to do anything very useful (like mowing. I suppose clearing the stream might be an option) so am doing some work instead.

Alfie - did your DS sort out his dental issues? I've had an implant recently, and had a really good dentist & maxillo-facial surgeon to do them, so if you want a second opinion/someone else to sort them out then I'll pass on the details.

    hi greenbee

sons case is in hands of solicitors now... they are looking for a totally impartial dental expert for his opinion.. trouble is they all seem to know each other within a big radius !!:(
trouble is its difficult putting across what happened [both actions and verbally ] with the git dentist .... we are going to put in an official complaint to the general dental council now tho.. wont be quick !

belter of a day here again... hit 32 yesterday and 30 today..
got someone coming to see the pups tonight, so fingers crossed they are nice ...

I've sent you the details just in case. He's not that local. And he's not a dentist... so might be a useful contact. If not, I can also find the details of the person who did my mother's implants as well. She's even further away.

Bleugh! Bits of me are aching and it's way too humid here. Hopefully, it's stopped thundering etc up norf and east for some of you folks?

We're working flat out to get our drain trenches filled-in again, but trying at the same time to be canny and bury as much clay, stone and rubble as possible. We have to get the area near the house flattish so that Pete can start pulling out the foundation trenches next.....

    But....this morning it rained.

No matter, I had to take the van on a trip to the garage 7 miles away to have its MoT finished off and a new tyre fitted....all arranged last week, so no problem. ;)

Err,,,,but it was. Having cunningly screwed the fog light switch to the dashboard so they couldn't fail it and charge me to fit new, my plans were thwarted when the mechanic admitted they'd forgotten all about last week...and there wasn't even a tyre waiting. I could leave it and take one of their vans for a day or two.....:(

Somehow I didn't think they'd appreciate me using their van what I had lined up for our van, which was to fill it with a tonne of broken breeze blocks, rubble and rocks, so I just came home again! :rotfl:

    Very quiet on yer! :(

Not much news.....well, none really! :o

DW and I have continued sieving, sortingand barrowing soil, clay and stones and filled in the drain trenches. Tedious, but important, as we don't want to be left with piles of horrible stuff. Most of what's left looks OK as garden soil, so when this building work's over, we can probably use it to level the area near the house to create a real lawn, as opposed to 'grass.'

Off out now to get supplies for us and HW.....the schools are out and the motorway is probably chaotic, so we'll have to keep away from the main tourist routes.

Not my favourite 6 weeks of the year, although it used to be!!!:rotfl:

How lovely to hear from Lir :T
I've been busy with work and a leaving do...sadly anyone who can is escaping the NHS in the mental health arena at present as it's quite hard going. My morals and ethics will keep me there as long as I can stand it, which I'm sure will be a long time. But puts pressure on those of us left as their posts just get frozen. Hey ho, at least I have the garden.
We should have someone coming today to look at the patios, measure up, give opinions and hopefully go away and do a decent quote. We are thinking grey/black Indian sandstone as the back of the house is north facing and according to paving expert that stone is the best for the situation. Hoping he can also put us a water feature into it. We will see.
Anyway, not much time today for the garden as I need to clean the house and hubby wants to go and look at cars. Beautiful weather here again thoug and a little cooler tomorrow as 22 and cloudy which will be better for weeding. And I must dig some potatoes up...really not sure why I keep growing them with only two of us and we don't eat many lol

    hi all..

been quiet here cos its hot hot hot..
no point in doing much in this heat !;)

so just been amusing the pupwups .... hard job but....:D
had lovely couple come round this morning and booked no3 .
if I could get it there id send no 4 to choille ;)

first time this week that the grass hasn't grown much !
moving goslings down to the chook paddock this afternoon.. they need the grass and to "meet" others to give them a bit of confidence [size of chicken now !]

big hoo haa going on in lymington at the mo... we had the carnival and one company put in a float re the Jamaican bobsleigh team [film]... it was brilliant and won a prize BUT a certain crazy [ I mean unhealthily crazy] woman put in a racist complaint and it snowballed into a ridiculous newspaper racist war ! the company are the main organisers/rescuers/sponsors of the revived carnival.
lots of "black" spectators actually had selfies done with them and thought it brilliant. the woman complainer is "white" and a so called campaigner on "behalf" of the ethnic groups.
what got lym up in arms is that our local paper ran the headlines saying "big apologies" etc. its caused quite a stir and lots have demanded the paper retract the nonsense it wrote on the word of ONE person [who has mental health issues]... we will see.
all fun down yere in t forest ;)
