Oh and I've wormed the dogs and then rewarded them for not eating my fingers with some Dreamies. Win - Win :j:j:j

Now I really must stop procrastinating and start making some inroads on my 'to do' list :o

My dogs would happily worm themselves if I bury the tablet in a cube of cheese :rotfl:

Cats are another story though

Our dogs are too suspicious for that unfortunately.

Yes for the cats I need to wait for Mr BD to get home - worming the cats is a two person job - we had one cat years ago which would literally foam at the mouth when you tried to medicate her.:(

Davesnave We had a house not far from us some part of the church, very old but not listed, needed loads of work.

The bungalow I was describing has no architectural merit, so they'll have a job to make it look worse. Mind you, if the cementing of the ridge tiles seems a little dodgy on my photo from 3/4 mile away, then it probably is!

Holey jumpers r' us here too, but I discard clothes when they get so tattered that bits might find their way into machinery! :rotfl:

The weather moderated mid-afternoon and we finished the day very calm and even a little bit sunny.

I know the thatchers wouldn't have been working outdoors today, or on any of the other wet days we've had recently, but I've noticed a lot of coming and going from their yard in the last week....and now it's looking uncharacteristically tidy. I couldn't see much in the gathering gloom, but their barn seems rather short of reeds inside. Are they leaving?

If they are, I can't think of another enterprise which will be as quiet and benign. Those who complained about them might yet get their just rewards. ;)

Evening all ...... weather held off today but damp air and 10d.. today i had the mini digger in to clear the mud off the coralle area in the field. the surveyor chap who works for friend [where hoss's are] is not used to "field work" and after all that expensive matting stuff was put down he had it turfed ! yes it looked nice .... for about 1 week :rotfl: all summer it was dry but now it had turned back to a mud bath defeating the object :o so it has now all gone :T looks lovely now, and NO MUD :T the lads also found a blocked drainage pipe further up the field thus all the water thats been cascading down.. so ive moved hoss's to bottom field and they are going to dig a french drain ? next week across the gate way to the ditch... they are the contract gardeners/tree/digging/allsorts lads working there now and they are FOREST people so know whats what ... i then left to do dog walking duties in the forest and at half light i saw a chap looking on the ground and he'd lost his car keys  apparently hed stopped for a P in the gorse and somehow dropped his keys :o i drove back along the road then sort of hurdled a ditch , down the forest track and shone my headlights [pitch black now] we were looking everywhere ! he was from POOLE so not like he could fetch spares ! we finally spotted them and he was double relieved then ;) :rotfl: i had to remember how to get back to the road then  so a bit of a dull day here ;):D

    Incredibly windy here.

Spoke with a Malamute rescue lady who reckoned that you shouldn't have a malamute if you have sheep or any other pets, children etc.

I don't know..I don't have kids or any other pets, but I would have thought if I had it in my control it would be okay, but it seemed like it would rule out most of the population from keeping one...

at half light i saw a chap looking on the ground and he'd lost his car keys  apparently hed stopped for a P in the gorse and somehow dropped his keys...

Oh, the old 'lost car keys' routine....;)nudge,nudge...;):rotfl:

Seriously, I hope you had attack dog Bimble with you. :)

When I used to do life skills work with the police, we'd have to think of good ways to trick our reasonably streetwise kids into going into the woods with strangers.....because, of course, they weren't going to be fooled!:rotfl: One of the best was the lost puppy routine: young copper, trendily dressed looking distraught and carrying a lead..."Will you please help me look for my puppy..." About 50% went with him!:doh::doh:

Just got an email from HP - Mr BD's lappy may have a faulty power cord which could cause a fire.

Dug out the magnifying glass so I could read the impossibly small serial numbers hidden under the battery - and yes - we do have a potentially faulty power cord. So they are going to send out a new one.

The recall began in August 2014 but they only just got round to emailing us. Ah well, we have survived so far

Now JC Superstar finished Mr BD now off rehearsing for the Pakenham Panto. Gone in his new jeans. He has, in my view unwisely, purchased a 32W instead of the usual 34W. They are rather tight on the thighs, but Mr BD is of the view they will stretch. Much more likely to shrink I suspect

Dave - I think thatching is a wonderful craft. We have been watching the progress of thatching a cottage near us and it is looking fabulous - I especially like the pheasant and fox along the ridge. I seem to recall that the local planners have been insisting that Norfolk Reed is used, but there was a shortage which was causing a lot of problems - don't know if it is still the case.
