Finally got round to putting a proper path in the greenhouse
Got loads of old bricks from knocking down some walls in the ranch!! Wood was free, and the black weed stuff we had for free too!!
So now I can get on with de- weeding, and adding more soil/ compost, and conditioning etc...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Choille, flip, really hope its just something small, this isn't the time for it to go wrongWork to live= not live to work0

The whole system isn't fit for purpose. It is so not good.
I am pretty pished off just now.0 -
choille... Is it possible to run heating/water etc off to a smaller area or maybe you need pumps fitted re gravity? my friend had a rayburn and it wasn't strong enough to reach upstairs but did the downstairs..... not sure of the logistics.
wish I could wave a wand ..............0 -
Having lived for 6 years with an Aga + 8 radiators on a system that wasn't fit to do much, I can only sympathise, choille.
At least your pipes and rads are new, so they won't be scrap like our gunged-up ones were, but it might be that you'll need to re-think what you can realistically run with the Rayburn.
It's a booger.
Left messages for our plumbers yesterday. No response. Same with the electricians. Our boiler is still not heating water. Not a big problem, but someone has c0cked-up.0 -
We think that it needs taking out the \rayburn & we will need to instal an ecoboiler stove...............I have come down off the ceiling......just.0
-
Well the heating engineer feels that it may be wrongly plumbed & has given us instructions to tweek it & to monitor for 24 hrs so still don't know.
Still really cold tho; - outdoors & in really. But just need to see = be good if it doesn't need a new boiler stove, but we need summat that works & isn't just pretty....0 -

How's it going, choille? Even if you have to install something with more 'oomph,' you could probably keep the Rayburn and use it in tandem with it. Maybe no need to write off your pride & joy.....
Things are probably quiet because we're all shivering indoors or doing boring stuff, like shopping. I had to do ours today while DW spent another fruitless hour+ in H*m*b*s* designing bedroom furniture....until their whole system crashed again, like it did last week.
She's spent 3 hours in there so far, with nothing to show for it, not that it's bothering me too much!:p I'd rather bash on with the 'proper'work and leave the twiddly bits till we see how many £££ we have left.
At least I managed to plant a tree today without the hole filling with water. It's a rowan, though it was sold to me as something else. I'll have to wait a year or two more to see if it's a fancy one, in which case it'll be a bargain.0 -
Well exactly Dave, but it could be that it's been a complete balls up by ex plumber who we find out is not qualified!
We are having to wait on someone who is to come & do a report! Another one. It is getting silly, but I do hope that we can keep it as I have cooked loads in it, but we do need some heat about the place as it is pretty cold.
Went on Homebase's website & looks like they are now in ownership with Argos! I wanted to order another chrome stacking shelving thing for the pantry which I did eventually do on the phone. But was told that as it's out of stock & in transit they don't know when it will be in store - code for they haven't bought it yet - I think!
Hope that the bedroom stuff is going well Dave - they do seem to be a lot better as a shed than they were a few years back.
There are all sorts of Coloured berried Rowans Dave. I just have the usual Mountain Ash on the croft. But they are really attractive when in berry. They are very lucky if planted near a gate - keeps away the evil spirits - legend has it here.
Alfie hope it isn't too cold tomorrow with you & Ruby wil be coming on big style & will amaze you I'm sure.0
