hi all..
please take care choille, cant have two of you crocked !
well bimble has been to "bimble land" and ive been to "cake land"...
bimble knows the minute I drive into LIR's he has no rules to follow..... he finds dog toys /balls that have probably been hidden for yonks...
me.... I eat cake AND had to drive home with the fresh out of the oven smelling cake that I have instructions to freeze for xmas ... now that was tough !!
sons off for a Chinese take away soon...:D
stayed dry today, just a flicker of a shower now and then. cold tonight and having parked my butt in front of LIR's woodstove/cooker for the duration , came straight in and lit my fire !!0 -
How is LIR and the LIR clan??
Choille please take care... Hope everything goes to plan with OH hospital .
Has any of our northern dreamers had snow??? I have been seeing posts on fb, and it isn't a flake or two either!! Here it has just been heavy rain!!
Lola.. Is being a cheeky little minx .and then gives you the puppy do eyes. She loves fetching stuff to you, she is like a magpie anything flipping shiny or money that has been dropped and lost lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
All the tops are white.
The roads have been very slippy early on/ It's freezing.
We have no phone since the lightening, but intermittent broadband.
I'm just trying to book somewhere in Inverness to stay over as I will be struggling to get back & forth to visit so am trying to do that on line.0 -

Fingers crossed it all goes well for Mr choille and that you're both soon back home. Have you recovered from your fall? Hope so.
No news here, where it's an incredibly still, mild morning, with only the occasional bird song. Many plants seem confused about the season. We have primroses.
Hmm, it's been too quiet lately. I'm beginning to suspect that Mr Dog's spaniel is no more, as I've not heard it for at least a month. The Patterdale terrier is still about, as it yapped non-stop for about 4 hours last week, but was barely audible with the winds we had then. I'd prefer to believe that it's being allowed to run about in their yard, but as the gates are often open, I know otherwise.0 -
Freezing with me, frost hasn't budged at all.
However, not a breath of wind so will be shortly putting up the ladder to clear moss from the gutters and hopefully stop water overflowing down the wall.0 -
Still & very cold here & just getting dark. I am aching from yesterday's fall, but not too bad at all.
Have arranged a lift down to Inverness for us both- cadged a lift down in a animal feed van!
Just doing the frenzied clean up of the midden we are living in in case someone phones social services! Geeeeeeeee what a mess.0 -
Pressed -on with insulating the central section of the loft with the solid Kingspan today, ready for laying a narrow floor over it when everyone else is done. That stuff is 10cm thick and hard to cut, but it will be there for ever, hopefully.
Fed up with the electrician's lads, who seem to have no idea where they're going with the cables. The one to the shower in the guest room goes wiggly-woggly all over the place and even around the water pipes too. Being a bit OCD, I'll have to disconnect the bloody thing and get it running through in some logical order tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the genuine Duck tape, which I carefully wrapped around some newly lagged pipes.... is unwinding itself. More OCD reattachment and a cable tie on each! I won't buy that brand again. Why do folks rave about it?
At the village market yesterday I bought some Chinese artichokes. They look like huge maggots from a Bushtucker trial.:eek:I shall store them in dry compost in a frost free place.....and plant next spring.
All the best for Inverness, choille. :A0 -
I hope it's ok to join in with you all?
My dream? For us go to work working land, focussing on survival and making do with our wares. In reality I don't even own my own property so very highly unlikely.
I had been successful in getting an allotment plot but we have had to move so it means no more plot. I had only just begun too. The best news is that the house we rent now has a large brick raised bed, complete with space for pots and my very own she shed. I'm able to have that area so I can dabble somewhat.
I brought my rhubarb, strawbs and rasp canes. Last week I dug out all the dandelions, repotting for a nice little supply for our house rabbit.
Waste not want not
I'd love to get to know you all. It is nice to dream but I have a garden that is mature and needs taking care of. I suspect I'll be doing less of the day dreaming and more of the asking for help.0
