Awful weather here. Lost the electric on Saturday night and it came back on about 2.00 Sunday. Loads of branches and trees down and a wagon had blown over.

hi all.....
well I think we missed the worst of the weather ! we had constant mizzly drizzle yesterday but the winds had dropped. today has been 13degrees , dry and no wind !!
had mum over from Saturday till today. she gets a bit fed up so I get her here .... and she cleans my house..;) :rotfl:
ive completely sorted/cleaned/cleared my dining room so we CAN EAT IN THERE
put mums pine wardrobe on ebay yesterday and sold it within an hour ! collecting it tomorrow so that's more space as I have it here..
otherwise I think the bay is in hibernation !!
choille... have you sorted your technology yet...:rotfl:0 -
Another shirt-sleeves day here, though it might be blowing up to something now. We've been so lucky compared with you folks up in the Border regions.
Our builder was back to finish the twiddly bits in the little en-suite today, but despite trying to hide, it wasn't long before I was off, playing 'hunt the stuff' once again!
Today it was plywood, neatly stored in the barn behind 2 sheets of insulation, 2 sheets of plasterboard, 4 sheets of OSB, our old front door, 2 other doors, 2 carpets and assorted other 'flat' things. So, one hernia later......
But the rest of the day wasn't too bad. The man/woman/undecided-hole pit was almost dry, so it was a case of get in there, remove a few barrow-loads of sludge and replace it with concrete, bury the pipes in pipe laying gravel and then back-fill. Job more or less done!
Meanwhile, DW spent the day with squared paper and cardboard cut-outs, designing built-in bedroom furniture. I gave it a quick look and it seemed OK, but what caught my eye was the £2250 at the end! I'm really not sure I want to build-in that much stuff, when there's real wood wardrobes, drawers etc built locally.0 -
Hello! I have been reading but just not had much to say
Things here are slightly chaotic as we are getting work done and there are things piled everywhere. There is still a lot to get done but we are hoping to have a break over the holidays. Been clearing out as much as I can too.
Sounds as if you are all busy as usual!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

yes well theres a lot of "daft suverners" here !! they reckon theres a waiting list ?? I don't think id spend that when the sea has been ferocious in that area past winters !
been VERY mild here. stayed dry today.
I noticed a massive oak down along the field fence line today opposite me. when it suddenly gets flooded and high winds, that's when they crash !
storm the "white" horse looks like a creature from the deep !! he has rolled so much he is just a massive mud blob.... I started to brush a bit but gave up as it was making it worse ! ruby is such a prima donna she is spotless all bar her legs ... some of the little ones have got their winter coats and look like fur balls ...
neighbours have moved out... its a gorgeous big old farmhouse with ginormous old barns... cant wait to have a sneek look inside ...
[my boss has bought it and her son/wife/son are going to live there]
son home from Canada snowboarding trip...not a happy bunny ! his Canadian friend decided last minute to bring his "new" girlfriend .. supposed to be a LADS holiday and apparently she couldn't/didn't want to snowboard and as friend had the transport , they did very little boarding and more time spent pandering to her whims... he felt like a very large preverbial gooseberry ...
got 2nd meeting with dental practice on Friday.. son can lay out exactly what he wants then which includes compensation..
oh for a peacefull,stress free 2016 !!0
