I'm gonna try & knock steps up from pallets. Thought a ramp was the answer, but it should be steps according to the occupational therapist at the hospital. It's coz of the hip damage & the boards bending, not good apparently.
The OT really pressed home how impt this is as OH could end up in traction for 2 months if he falls.

Good plan. Remember to grit them!

I've got some chicken wire that I'll put over.

After blizzards the temp has really risen, and now we have rain, rain & rain, but it's sweaty warm!

Angus the plasterer was here this morning & really done loads of excellent tidying up of joints & wobbles - what a good worker. Good to have someone skilled - really makes a difference.

Our bitey cat gave his collie a right chase the other day - frightened the life out of him....quite funny in a way.

Still very warm here too. The wind abated and it stopped raining before dawn, so not a bad day to have plumbers and electricians leaving the doors and loft hatches open everywhere.

If only they'd talk to each other! :(

It was only after the sparkies had gone that I learned they'd not made the boiler and controls live. Instead, they'd been doing outside lights, which aren't exactly vital! I didn't realise that the boiler stuff isn't connected at the consumer unit, but how the hell would I know that? :wall:The plumber didn't think to tell anyone!

So, we can run the boiler on a temporary wire tomorrow, but we can't control it. :(

Chicken wire is great for making boards safe, choille. We've been using it here for years after going AoT a few times. :o

AAAgh I've sort of hurt my back, it's still thinking about if its going to go into full blown spasm. DD2 has got shingles and her drama exam is on Thursday and she's got to stay off and as for Ds1........well the twit has only gone and got himself a tattoo out in Thailand. It was one of the few things I told him not to do. And breathe!

    hi lucielle

not wishing to get you fretting ,as kids will be kids,BUT if you speak/contact your son ask him to buy some anticeptic wipes and USE them. its the heat out there that can cause problems.
after my son was medi flown home re slicing the bottom length of his foot open on coral out there, the doctors here were stringent on hygene with it as they said its bugs and heat that causes the problems.
this isn't to say at all he will have a problem but maybe better safe than sorry.
I hope you aren't offended with my message :o

    Hi Lucielle,

Can you get the back seen to really soon as it's so painful & disabling is back problems? Poor you - can you rest up? Probably not eh?

Boys will be boys eh? Or girls will be girls as they too are having writing & stuff tattoed into their skin.

Hi Alfie - Thanks for that. I'm here all day so should get it.

There does seem to be a problem with stuff coming up from down South. When I post stuff people get their items really fast. I think the delivery drivers wait for a stack of stuff coming this way & then do them all together. Seems to be getting worse recently.

You musn't send me things Alfie -it's way far too kind of you.

The wind was incredibly wild last night & no sleep until daylight came in so I feel really ruff ruff. The sun is shining now but the sky keeps going black & then massive hail storms.

I've been watching the debate re bombing Syria & can't believe how we are being lied to again & how it is all just so awful & scary.
