Beautiful day again, but I wasted it on the phone - I lost my specs & attempted to track them down, but alas - to no avail.

Glad your Mum's phone line is on Alfie- BT are quite hard to deal with. The engineers are usually fine from Open Reach but BT have a strange way of doing things. The send them to the other end of the locale & do the same with one who live locally- the engineers often complain about how they don't get sent to the nearest place, but the furthest away - and the engineers have to deal with the call centre do too! How ridiculous is that?

Hairy cat has been fighting again - he's a bit of a ruffty tuffty. His hair is all over the grass up at the gate & he has puncture wounds on his neck. His off out again the wee booger.

I think it was another cat that is going about beating all the cats in the area up & is also a hairy cat. I heard a reet kafuffle the other week - heads getting banged off the underside of the caravan, spitting , hissing & general frackA - went out withthe torch & saw this ginger giant - our hairy cat chased it across the bridge & away over into neighbouring croft.
But seems it could have got its own back.

We went out & came back in the dark & saw an otter crossing the road down the road - nice to see. Loads of deer rutting & on the roads just now.

It's really clear & starry out there & cold - big frost this morning. Will be the same again - no doubt.

Our cats are wimps and flee rather than fight. It's pretty hard to outrun a Bengal, but Izzy seems to do it. Lila can't, but she uses her brain to find hard to reach places if the worst comes to the worst.

It seems Violent Cat only passes through and spends more time in other territory, so he's less of a problem now. His owner has said he'll be on the move soon, which would offer the best solution. I think he's moved a lot, so the cat will have spent much of its life fighting for his own space, though Bengals are not particularly nice-natured anyway. :(

Saw Mr Rod yesterday, who says he'll be starting tomorrow, but may be working alone. Long range weather doesn't look too bad for next week, but breaks down somewhat the week after....

Hope those specs turn up, choille. Blooming expensive things. I bought bomb-proof ones last time, which has paid handsomely, as I've sat on them and knocked them flying loads of times, but they are long overdue for renewal. :o

DW is back today. It was cold yesterday, alfie,. I even put a jumper on. :)

Well I was hoping to get out today having been inside most of the week doing decorating, but it's rather grim here. Wet and grey. I want to move two acres which will get damaged when we have hedges removed if we don't move them. I also need to move 2 heucheras which I think will get damaged too. But I don't think I'll get it done today unless it brightens up a little.

I am sitting here , putting off going outside again, but there's reinforced concrete to be made. I hope that's two acers you ae shifting, Fay, not two acres!

According to the Met Office, it will be light cloud later, which I suppose is better than heavy cloud, but with fog and mist to the north and south of me, maybe I shouldn't complain! :o

Lol I don't have two acres Dave, so definitely acers. It's a good job we are all adept at interpreting predictive text! Lol

I don't often wear my specs as they are for reading only but I did buy a cord & used them when out shopping to read small print! But alas have phoned everywhere & no show. Bummer as they cost £55- which for me is dear!
Dentist last week & that cost too...............I'm getting expensive to keep as I go into decline!
Grey here, but dry so far. Lit the stove, but must stir myself.

Rummer - If you are listening we noticed that B&Q ae doing a great offer on golden oak laminate - £8 @ M2 . I think we'll get some for the bedroom. Laminate has gotten like faux fur - why kill a beast when you can buy summat that looks & feels the same for a fraction of the cost.

This whole quotation process has been a real eye opener for us! However we have chosen who is going to proceed with the work and we are just waiting on confirmation of dates :j
