is this the third aquarium?
Yes :embarasse. Although the 1st one became a cactus terrarium and the cactii are doing well, far more so than when they were in individual pots.
Then I went for the 64l community planted tank which has danios and rummynose and neon tetras.
This is a small 19l tank for a betta (or maybe some guppies) for my study
Fish work for me as they don't fret if I'm away overnight.0 -
Delighted to hear you are enjoying your fish so much, it sounds as if you are doing everything to make their lives wonderful.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

hi all...
when I was in my "powerless" last house all I longed for was a tropical fish tank... lack of constant leccy prevented this..
NOW I have the power, I haven't thought of getting one ??
I worked most of today then drove old lady for her eye appointment [injection into eye ball !! ]
I seem to have spent last few weeks getting people/things from A to B ....... I so want a lie in ..
I think I need a break , maybe go grout/paint for choilleif shes not still stuck to her pom poms :rotfl:
glad the missus is better and you've cracked the whip dave..;)
asbo dog has taken to doing this standing up on his back legs and waving his front paws about like a loony to get my attention ... it works..:rotfl:0 -
hows this for a cool little frost protector...0

IHS - Do you have out door fish? I have pondered on Trout - a pond that will flow in & out. I have the water - streams etc. I don't know - finishing the house would be good & then concentrate on out side.
Rummer is always very nice & positive - lovely. Hope that I didn't offend with the fake grass comments.
Alfie I have freed myself from the pom poms - t'was my digits that were stuck together, but you would be welcome any time. The tiling is almost there. Mr Choille shouldn't be doing so much, but he's been doing all the cutting & the sticking on of the tiles & sticing on the edging stuff. Looking very as I wanted it to - which is good.
OH will go & see the guy who will help us get the flue up - all that's needed to get the heating on. Guys having some poblems & don't want to hassle but heating would be good as it's getting cold now.
I bought a very good rug, but it smells of dog so been putting bicab on it & I think it's working. Got it very cheap...coz of the pong.....0 -

Seriously, it's a good thing the treatment seems to be working. I was concerned that she was slowing right down with the pain and effort of walking, as her problem had been getting worse since January. It was so bad it messed-up her sleep too.
Now she's in the system at last, the treatment should be assured, and at least she doesn't need new hip joints, like we imagined she might.
No sign of Mr Rod.......but the electricians showed-up, did a bit more connecting and put the second oven in, so that's the kitchen almost done.
Like you, choille, I'm looking forward to some real heating this winter. We are still just running on the wood burner and it's getting a little chilly in the mornings!
Came across this amazing caterpillar this afternoon and thought it must be rare, but in fact it's just a reasonably common Tussock Moth.
Clickable small picture this time!0 -
hi all....
well mums phone line is ON :j
what a fiasco ! told to wait in 8am-1pm.
mum got a "call" at 7.45 am saying lines sorted, here's your number.....
I got 5 texts and 5 emails saying
7.15am... engineer enroute
7.22am....engineer arrived
7.30am...line instigated
7.45am....line working
8am....engineer finished
this took all of 22 minutes to get it working and THREE weeks to organise it !!
but its working and that's the main thing...
its been dull and cold here today but no rain and I had to water my tubs of flowers this afternoon....
postie ,yesterday, hacked down the docks in the new field [acquired from next door]. there was a line of them following a ditch. this morning I had a phone call saying "if you look out your window can you tell me if the smoke is bad from me burning the docks".... I could see what looked like a major event and the possibility of someone calling the firebrigade...:rotfl: wind was the wrong direction and so he stopped burning them !:o
going to see dad tomorrow and then a trek to find a fridge... I don't want undercounter size nor a tall one but one in between .. I will bluddy find one....
hope everyone is good0 -
hope everyone is good
I'm good. I'm always good.:A:D
Busyish day here, but still no official sign of Mr Rod, though I saw him sneaking past in his truck, towing his digger.
It's quite hard to pretend to be someone else when you have a big red and grey digger snaking along behind!:rotfl:
So....with the dogs telling me Mr Dog was out, I decided to start hedge laying. Dropped a couple of large hazels that had made me pause last winter, and by the time I'd pruned them and taken away a hawthorn it was lunchtime.
After lunch, more building stuff, mucked out the hens and did a bit in the polytunnel too. Then Pete arrived with a ram, "just in case any of they sheep still need servin.' " So, that was the rest of the afternoon gone! :rotfl:
I shall keep an eye on the ram. "Oh, 'ees all roight, jus don't get un in a corner!" Yeah, heard that before....That's what Pete always says!
