Friday im collecting the 2 new sheep :j we are slowly building up an unrelated but registered Jacobs flock ... so next year we may try for babbies

LIR... those wheels that you have on side of your chook coup / house ? were they moveable ? ie.. do they sort of go out of the way then they are dropped to move it ? were they made for you or purchased ?
reason for asking we need to get some fitted to the new field shelter to avoid PP. there was a bit of a storm here [nf]where someone had to spend a fortune on appealing PP and won cos she had wheels.
or if anyone else knows what im talking about letting me know a source please ? they have to be heavy duty !!0 -
I don't think it's necessary to have wheels on a temporary field shelter; it just has to be movable, so skids will do as well......
in wood
or steel...

CTC, that TV prog is compulsive viewing, though I found the whole thing quite painful to watch!
"Offered the full asking price...." Like taking sweets from a baby!
Of course, I realise it's 'reality television.' In the real world, the silly b*ggers wouldn't get a mortgage and there would be no Programme 2. :rotfl:
Loved all the characters at Ffairfach - just like Hatherleigh!0 -
Alfie, he got them at an agri place that does things like that, but yes, skids are totally acceptable for planning purposes.
I'm having trouble getting on line ATM, just changed IP and not proving very fluid. Not been able to get on line all day.0 -

I must go to Specsavers.... I'm seeing double!
This is the kitchen so far. Just chipboard boxes, but you get the idea.
We've been very lucky in getting their best guy to do the install. He does the showrooms, so we know he's good....
Now the question. Although the walls & units are not the same colour, it's all a bit bland. We intend to liven it up by having the glass splashback in the whole middle bit where the cooker hood is, and making it bold. Trouble is, we can't make up our minds what colour to do it!
I am thinking terracotta, like Red Earth from F&B.
DW thinks something else.
It's a north facing room. Maybe we should copy the colour of some accessories like....
But that's a bit old hat....
Any ideas?0 -
dave....
the thing is with "skids" is they only move well over smooth level ground and IF we wanted to move it... it aint gonna be smooth !
flat roller type wheels are a bit less like ski's sinking in snow !
with white units? be carefully not to have too crisp a colour. the contrast will be dominant and split the kitchen. if you have a green "outlook" then a nice washed green may suit. brings it all together.
washed darkish blues are nice.
im probably not helping... I adore red earth, similar to my lounge wall but I have same colour scheme throughout furnishings so room is darker colours.
of course the descicion is yours [that's to humour you as im sure your DOH will have final say...;) ]0 -
Dave - the thing is to pick a colour or use what you have mainly, or what ever you love or strikes you, stands out & slaps you on the chops as do-able.... - blue, green , red, yellow, aqua....whatever. It can work as an accent, pop of colour, highlight. Most bright colours will go with beige, neutral backdrops. Lime, dark yellow, purple, turquoise, lapis, grape, royal blue....just look at colour charts & go with your gut. ....How exciting.
I think that it's always more authentic if you don't work with a planned palette, but build up a scheme, layer colour & choose what you fancy.....go with the flow....0
