Will check out that website for seeds
Yes, I'll have to start filling-in HMRC returns again at this rate!
I found the site when looking for a source of 'Ragged Jack' kale.
I'd been told, "The seeds are unobtainable," which is like a red rag to a bull where I'm concerned! :rotfl:
Anyway, Ragged Jack and about 8 others ordered....:cool:0 -
Morning all,
It sounds as though you might not be getting good sales at the village monthly event , but it is a good marketing tool to get people to buy plants at your gate..
Picking up, well digging up a big hydranga plant next week ( asked on fb for hydranga plant or cuttings) fi gets crossed, hoping to use it as a mother plant and hack some cutti GS off it lol.. As the prices have jumped up on them, well all plants really...
Right catch you later, just come come in from being g up the ranch, and now i' m off to work, will probably eBay most of the day lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
hi all
what a glorious day ! hit 25d at one point [sorry to anyone still damp !:o ]
masses of baby frogs everywhere at friends today :T the gardener came to tell me so I had to do a sort of shooo rescue before he mowed :rotfl:
quick swish in the barf then im off to the theatre, sounds very grand....:rotfl:
friend I went to morocco with has just been told or rather given notice to quit her house/home of 14 years
she knew it wouldn't be forever and she knows the owner ,who lives abroad, well and did think he would say well before rather than official short notice... so shes a tad upset...:(0 -
Phew, a hot one here today too :T
Not achieved a huge amount, apart from a long walk with the dogs and a bit more clearing.....but, I did get something done I've been wanting to do for some time - reunite my late parents
'What?' I hear you cry.....no, don't worry, I haven't got them stuffed a la 'Pyscho' along with my taxidermy collection, lol :rotfl:
No, what I've done is purchase two plants (both climbers) that happen to have the same name as my late mum & dad, then plant them in a not quite matching, but very similar, diminutive pair of reclaimed chimney pots - given to me by my mum in 2008 and as my parents were both tiny too (both nicknamed *titch* prior to meeting each other) it seemed fitting - which will eventually grow together over a rustic archway leading to old stone steps down to the lower lawn
They look lovely and will be a constant reminder of them both - they both adored gardening as well....plus if we decide to move in the future, they can come along too :A
Edited to add: enjoy the theatre Alfie....is at the Mayflower?Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Ah, did that on New Year's Day 2006, so it might be a bit hard to locate them now.....
Both were last seen in a rather dusty state at Heaven's Gate, overlooking Longleat.;) One of their favourite walks.
I think your more permanent reminder would have been fitting too, but there's less watering my way.0 -
Decided the garden needs some 'instant' impact to help disguise the wooden fencing and add some height variety, replacing the Camellia japonica from Aldi has done nothing for two years and will get the boot.
Shortlist is topped by Japanese holly 'Sky Pencil', just need to track down a 1m+ specimen without breaking the bank...0 -

Dave, unfortunately I still have to decide on a *final resting place* for my actual parentsCurrently they reside in a built in linen press in the office
Trouble is there is no obvious favourite place they both enjoyed visiting......was thinking of buying a gigantic empty egg timer and using them to fill it as they hated to be idle, lol :rotfl:Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Rather wet again - windy at times, surprisingly so. I've given up on the garden as it isn't fit to be out. Everyone is complaining about it.
More tiling done in Bathroom, so that is coming along well, but we've run out of tiles so will have to beetle back to Inverness.
Listed a bit on the bay & wasted the day in general. When it's so dull I shut down & my energy levels are very low.
Good sale Dave.
Phoebe your plans for a memorial sound great. I do not know where my parents ashes are which is troubling for me.
Alfie - your poor friend, hope she manages to find somewhere nice soon. A home is such a precious thing. It's the reason that we decided to build was because of the problems I'd had with rented accommodation.
Decided to go back to plan A with a large old painted cupboard that I still haven't had delivered - but it's funny how we often have to go around the houses idea-wise & then go back to square one......well I do.0 -
Sorry your weather is still pants Choille
It does sound as though you're making progress though, which can only be a good thing, but carp weather really drags you down......do hope it improves up there very soon x
