No thunder or lightening here, but heavy rain from around 3pm yesterday. Still coming down now, but it appears to be brightening up which is good as we're venturing out to a vintage centre later
Have been having internet issues since yesterday - weather related? Maybe, but not on the Mac, only my iPad, so maybe not...think the old thing is getting to the end of its natural life
Sorry to hear about mauve squeaker cat LIR, hope she's ok x
Bloomin' plumbers, FK, we've had our share of those over the past few years, part of the reason we plan to DIY the plumbing where poss here. On the subject of which, my new bath shower mixer turned up this morning, so once fitted I can finally wash my hair without needing to get into the shower!
Dave, hope you're not throwing that high level loo out? Repo or not, you could probably get good money on the bay.....I might even be interested and we're in Devon next Friday(Collecting another ebay purchase!)........
Have a good day all xMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Yes, plumbers were as bad as the builder was with the 'slightly out' window. They brought the pipework for the en-suite radiator out just 1" inside the arc of the door, instead of, say, 1" outside of it. They had a whole ruddy wall and still messed-up!
Overall, I find that people who can "do" cannot plan or design. Can't understand why.
Sorry, old style bog is going to DD1:o, who likes it lots. :rotfl:She is supposed to be exchanging hers with it, but will never be that organised.
Market was pants today.0 -

Went to lottie yesterday to find the first poppy flower had finally unfurled. I just love how frilly it is, like a little girl's frilly party knickers!

We've planted a couple of bean beds, here's the one for the dwarf borlottisBorlotti bean bed by Maggie, on Flickr
We're going to use the bedheads to support netting to keep off the pigeons until the beans get big enough to cope with them.0 -
Bean bed! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::D
The market was pants because not many people attended, CTC. It's always going to be tough-going in such a small community as this.:(
The quality of the stalls is good, so it's a matter of people finding other things to do, or not coming from a distance because the surrounding villages have markets too.
We have about 15 houses here in our little enclave between town and village, yet I've not seen one neighbour at the market, except the local political guy, who would need to be seen there anyway.
I also hope mauve squeaker is going to be OK. What a great name.0 -
No worries about the loo, Dave, I thought you'd have other plans for it and am pleased your DD is having it
We bought one for here already - it's an extremely rare, gothic style high level model that were manufactured in very small numbers during the late 20th century (we have a friend that owns a showroom so we know all about it, lol!) as they were very expensive to make. We bought exactly the same loo for the Wilts house (used) and were very sad to leave it when we sold......quite by chance I found a brand new one on the bay a few months back - 'twas in Ireland but we had our trusty courier collect it for us
Gorgeous poppy, Maggie and love the bean bed :TMortgage-free for fourteen years!
