Still growing remarkably well, the front which is usually a little slower is long but I didn't have enough fuel left for that this afternoon.
Had a go at the chicken orchard this morning, using the Honda set high (instead of the Hayterette) and dispensing with the bag. That causes a maelstrom of grass clippings to be hurled at me, so I've devised a simple baffle plate to deflect much of that. Works a treat.
I'm still looking out for a wheeled brushcutter at a sensible price.
Went for a little run for a change of scene pm, but it was dark far too early for such a balmy day!0 -

i am going to have a grump
.......... or grumps...;) why do people stand at road crossings, press the button and then cross when a space rather than traffic stopping happens.. only to leave a que of cars waiting for NOBODY to cross.... why do people drive at minus 5mph over cattlegrids.........:wall: why do people [in the NF] drive behind/causing running horses urging them faster in narrow lanes and not realise that they have split the herd in opposite directions and any minute now one of them is going to kick out and demolish the cars front headlight.....;)
that one made me laugh so doesnt count as a grump

Seem to have been mega busy, but not much progress. Stew comes tomorrow to give us a hand, so that is good.0 -

The last is because they don't know critters and don't think things through.0 -
Hi All,
sorry haven't posted much, been manic here with work etc
update.. new mammy pig had to have the vet yesterday,, looks as though there is a start of an infection due to giving birth... so vet gave her 3 injections, and she is on a 4 day course of anti-b's so hubby is getting a dab hand in injecting pigs lol..
she is a lot better today..
the other empty factory by our house has been bought, and the new owners are right Richards ( d.i.c.k.s) want us to remove our car and van and old chicken runs otherwise they wil lremove them, they want to put a fence right up to our boundary wall, we always knew at some point this would happen, but I was hoping it would be when we were ready, and not threatened.. like before...
I really do need to sort this place out now, as my heart is still in two places, here and the ranch...
The new owners of the land/factory will not tell us what they intend doing.. which to me isn't a good sign..
so I think spring time this place needs to go what ever happens, and even with a major loss, as I just cant cope with the stress of wahts happening with this area..
Fingers crossed the new builder will start the floor this week..
need to start looking for a shower unit and a toilet as I am hoping we can get the basics in and up and running quickly lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
Lovely and mild here in South-east Scotland. Whole garden has had a good autumn tidy up and I feel better for the fresh air. Pity my back has seized up!!!0

re the cattlegrids...ive found its actually less juddery to cross at a reasonable speed than to grind to a halt... BUT that was just me having a grump
re the horses there are signs all over saying HORSES DIE,THEY DONT DENT... but sadly people who are "in a hurry" tend to try and disperse the horses using thier cars as bulldozers !
