Forgot? More like weren't in any state to remember! :rotfl:
Reminds me of my first night when I went to uni. The guy I shared digs with suggested a pub trip, so we just walked till we found one. Came out and it was dark, so couldn't find where we were living for absolutely ages. I remember, I had to fertilize the flowers in someones garden!
We 'lost' that pub for over two years. Then, one day we were driving along a road we'd obviously not used again, when we both shouted at the same time, "There it is!"0 -
Well Dr phoned.. Colesteral is 5.3 so just a little over, low calcium, but it my liver that has flagged up.. So this is why I need to have more blood tests in august. If they ate still high, they will do more tests specifically for the liver and do a scan.. But they did say as I am over weight it could be just fatty build up around the liver...so I think I better start planting more lettuce, tomato's etc lol
Is it kale that has a high calcium content??
I have never eaten it, so how do you cook it etc??
Edit.. They did ash me if I drink a lot... Lol.. I hardly drink these days lucky to have a can once every blue moonWork to live= not live to work0 -
Oh well, not awful news CTC, and like my PSE test, you might find liver results are 'normal' by August. It isn't nice living with a 'wait and see' though. :undecided
News here is that I have just told the loft insulation company where to shove their next roll.:p I was given the heads up by another firm that their status was under review for dodgy dealing, and although I paid no attention to that, I checked and their free phone number didn't work.
Eventually I made contact via a third party....to a mobile....when I was told, "Yes, Mr Snave, you can have your insulation when we've done an EPC."
"But I have a valid EPC. I paid for it!"
"Ah but we need to do another..."
"No you don't!"
"Well, you can't have the insulation without it."
"Not from you, anyway. Fair enough. 'Bye."
All this needs looking into, so I'm looking....:(0 -
Sunshine and showers here, mostly the showers
Can't decide whether to bin the amaryllis which didn't flower this year; think I will rather than faff about with them and risk being disappointed again.
It's the Gardening Scotland show in Edinburgh this weekend, may go although the forecast isn't that good for Sunday.0 -
The pipework and electric points are all into the garage en-suite now, so the next move will be to close the doorway we left in the wall to allow easy access for the plasterers......who still haven't made contact about a start date yet!
So, on the one hand great progress, since it's only a fortnight since we started the conversion process in there, and total stalemate now we're ready to get the walls finished.
It's the same in the two bedrooms. Ceiling pulled down, timbers strengthened and new ceiling up....all just waiting now. :wall:
Mangy toos are growing faster than we can eat them, but the courgettes are just weedy things so far. Way behind with toms and squash and cucumbers have been miffy, yet the new cucamelons are growing away with no problems.
It's turning out to be an odd season, but fruit set on the plums was super.0 -
Morning all,
I think Alfie was a bit piddled last night lol...
Big poultry/farm auction is on today, haven't been there for months, so gou g to take a toddle on down. So wonder what useful crap I will buy lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
Quiet in here! So quiet I heard a cuckoo this morning.:D Can't remember when that last happened, but it wasn't long after moving here...then nothing till today.0

I heard a cuckoo here this week too Dave, first time in 5 years. It is quiet on here. I've just been and got tomato grow bags and compost for doing some potting up and as always I have weeding to tackle.
I've just had to email the council as someone has stolen our rubbish bin! Wild really as everyone in our cul de sac has one and ours has our number on in large font!0 -
The one & only time I've heard a cuckoo was when I was on holiday in Strathyre a few years ago, I think it was round about April time??
I also remember a colleague saying she could hear a cuckoo out of our office window ~ I didn't have the heart to tell her it was actually a pigeon she could hear!!
Sounds like a lot of building/renovation/garden work is still on-going for a lot of you (does it ever really end??), hope it's all coming together.
Ps. sorry to hear about Tinky Winky, Dave.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
I'm on holiday.
Right now I'm in bed looking at the sun playing on the sea from the most amazing window that gives a wrap around view of 180ish degrees. Its not quiet enough here to have a nap though I think.0
