Dave - I hope to see progress soon. Hope you do too. I am finding it exhausting & very stressful, but possibly coz I've been lambing & the weather is freaking relentless. There's folks up camping & on biking hols- they must be miserable.
I think the weather is supposed to pick up this week - I dash well hope so.
Am having a go at shovelling out the caravan today for new owners arrival - the cat from rescue centre. Coz that's what they are like eh?0 -
Would love to see some PIC of the new cat...I find the last few weeks.. Re worst stress I have had the cats are stuck to me like glue... Especially one we have had the longest.. I find when a cat is cwtched. Up on your lap. There is nothing more calming lol..
Aching this morning after strimming. Yesterday...
Grey and overcast here with mist on the top of the mountains...they did say we might have rain too....Work to live= not live to work0 -

Thanks CTC. I may resurrect the blog as it's so hard loading photos here - I forgot how to.
We are going for Gizmo today - so that's a rush. Goodness. We are certainly not cat proof yet. But I am excited. Yes, they are calming, but he's a bit mental - like mesel..........0 -
Oh CTC lovely blog, thanks for posting it. I really would lotto go and stay in that carriage.0

Beautiful blog CTC.
I can't believe how much clutter I've got in here...............0 -
I will try to post a piccy of our living room or kitchen soon, so you can see you're not alone, choille. We are living in a tip, but we're used to it now, and at least it's not a cold tip, like it was a few months ago.
Same here Dave, (and I'll also get some pics up soon)......although ours is still a cold tip - since turning the aga off - in fact I don't think I've ever experienced living in such a cold house! All our previous houses (all period buildings, from Tudor through Georgian to Victorian) have been more cosy than this place
Bit of a mix here today weather-wise - sunny and rather warm now, but started off with a few showers and overcast. Still, it dried up by mid morning so we headed off to the Tettenhall *Make it or Bake it*
on the village green where we picked up some scrummy foodie bits, had lunch and then squeezed in a visit to the garden centre (chose some Iris Germanica 'Proud Tradition', dwarf Iris Setosa, Salvia Patens, perennial violas and Sisrynchium Album for the pond seating area) before rushing home to get planting
Look forward to seeing pics of your new feline addition Choille
IHS - Yes, we opted to grow tulips in planters for the first time this year. Obviously we were in a new house with no knowledge of what would emerge, bulb-wise in the garden, but (having been inspired by a visit to Standen in Sussex) we decided to not plant any tulips in the ground, but to utilise some of our vast array of pots instead. That way we could just remove the pots and replace with others with summer planting when the time arose rather than waiting for them to die back.....as it happened, despite our many discoveries in this garden there were no tulips.
Edited to add - yes, super blog........reminds me I really should reincarnate mine, I'd forgotten all about it tbh!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Been in the garden (surprise!) today, but one of those days when there's not a lot to show for it! Just moving stuff about, staking, weeding etc.
Looks like the rose 'Madame Alfred Carrière' will flower this year as it goes up the pergola although it's been a bit slower to get going that I hoped.
This year, I shall use fertilizers more; I've been OK with plain water but forgot the plants needed more to grow and flower strongly when the ground is leached by winter rains
Oddly, given the Glasgow weather, the 6 herbs from Aldi I planted last year have all done well. In fact the chives have become a nuisance the plant has grown so big.0 -
IHS.... I swear by a good dose of 6X on the soil. I always put it down late autumn/winter and again in spring. roses especially do well on it. its like peat so easy to sprinkle and one sack does a lot ! I put a handful at the base of my hanging baskets and tubs too..... infact it goes everywhere !!0
