You're right Dave, keyboards are cheap as chips.

I do think we are due a photo of Tinky, as she has been a such regular on these boards recently ;)

I meant that the builders' merchants are cheap! :rotfl:They have to be, as no one would put themselves though the hell of visiting them otherwise. The yard would surely fail any rigorous H&S assessment, but it will keep going until someone is squashed, I expect.

Their delivery service is what we use most. That's pretty good.

Tinky Winky is in the archive somewhere. I will dig her out. The muck inside her mouth is dying and coming away quite well now, but it's a matter of faith that she will be able to feed herself again. I sure hope so! She's spending most days outside, plodding about the garden. :)

Pleased to hear you're ok guys :D glad to hear the sore throat didn't come to anything Dave ;)BD, Don't envy you on the paperwork front - I'm putting off doing the probate stuff for my mum's estate as I just can't face it at the mo :(

Bit peed-off today as our next door neighbour is having a mahoosive bonfire about three feet from our new fence.....he has a garden approximately 120' wide and 75' long (currently rather overgrown), yet he chooses to site his pyre of old mattresses and large plastic weed killer bottles there. We now have black acrid smoke & fumes filling the air and the whole house reeks despite all windows and doors remaining firmly shut

Don't know the neighbour as he's a buy-to-let landlord that only purchased the house last June (but is selling it at auction next week) and since we bought our house in December there have only been tenants there till recently. I don't want to start any disputes etc, but was tempted to call the fire brigade earlier as the flames were climbing higher and closer to our property

In other news we've had hail, rain and now sunshine here today - not enough rain to dampen his ruddy fire though - so we've been working inside again......

    HI ALL....
    FUNNY DAY WEATHER WISE!!
it was showering in Southampton and then bright sunshine ?
here at home apparently no rain ? [9 mile difference]

I took mum to hospital to have another skin C removed. it has to be "painted"... wait 3 hours then it is all zapped.. bit like tattoo removal to look at. it feels like a burn. repeated in a weeks time then should be ok. my mum bless her strolled in , strolled out and said " stubbing my toe hurt more "... shes a toughie ...:rotfl:

shes got a completion date for house sale that both parties have agreed on. couple went to see her last night and are buying the fridge freezer and washing machine. she s giving them all the curtains/blinds, kitchen table set, bedroom 1&2 furniture as they have nought .. saves us having to move it and helps them.

got most work done on the railway yesterday but going Friday for a run through/sort gremlins before charity open day Saturday. lets hope the weather is good or "rain stops play" :D

I got a bargain lot of big/medium/small dahlia tubours so will get those in at the weekend. ive allocated the 2 days to sort the plants, and sort the extension room in anticipation of mum moving in temporarily.
electrician has been today while I was out, sorted extractor fans, light circuits and ready for shower vent [builder to do] to be connected up when ready...

apart from all that a quiet day !;)

I may be wrong but I thought "bonnies" were only allowed after 7pm in any built up areas or within a distance of properties... may have changed tho.. not sure burning weedkiller containers is healthy ??

Thanks Alfie ;) Well, according to our council website they are allowed unless smoke is a nuisance to neighbours and unless too close in proximity to neighbouring properties - which his definitely was :(

There's an online complaint form to fill out, but tbh I don't think it's worth the aggro. Hopefully he's done with it now - he left about an hour ago - and has cleared out all the carp. He had a *man and van* there yesterday and has been gradually clearing out the fifty-odd foot garage over the past few days. Just hope it sells at auction and we get some proper, permanent neighbours at last :o

Great news about your mum's house sale progressing well and extremely nice of her to leave stuff that the buyers will appreciate. We did similar when we had to sell my parents' house - the young FTBs really appreciated the sofas, bedroom furniture, white goods etc and it was much easier for us having less to sell on fleabay. I've been down the *donate to charity* route before with larger items and have found they're usually not interested even in good quality stuff .....
