You towel-down teals in your spare time?
Oh.... no, that would be silly!
I get it... you have a special drawer for teal coloured towels.
Or maybe a drawer for any old towels, but with handles shaped like teal heads.
The possibilities are aslmost infinite....but I have to go and water my pants. :rotfl:
Are you writing a panto Dave?
Slinging it down here. May save us a little on the water bill. Mr BD has dug out a small pond for me using pond liner and felt that I collected from a kind person via freecycle 5 years ago (on the grounds it would 'come in useful') Mr BD wasn't happy when I insisted on taking it with us when we moved twice as its heavy stuff. And there's still enough left for another pond when we move againIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

hi all....
LIR... I wormed stormy today and took some pics.. will post later. he actually doesn't look too bad.. got farrier tomorrow so will ask him to check his teeth. I looked ,seemed ok but not sure I know what I could be missing !!
I think rubies fat butt doesn't help as a comparison !! she is a do'er. hardly a winter coat and doesn't loose an inch..
where friend has bought farmhouse next door, it comes with a 4-5 acre paddock. it is a tad boggy in winter and the grass is lush so we may cut hay on it this year and rest the other 2/late cut ?
just bought some seed potatoes. bit late, but gonna stick em in a big tub..
it has stayed dry all day but a breeze getting up now so may bring ****........0 -

Yes, teeth, d'uh. Silly me. Good idea.
You cannot see any that might be giving him gyp without a gag on him, really, so yes, you'll need so done equipped. You're mobile vet might be better than a farrier who does teeth tbh. My vets do teeth but strongly recommend a specialist dentist. My equine dentist is a darling, I don't know how far he travels, but he is SO good with horses, so amazingly gentle and patient.0 -
Afternoon all, the weather is beautiful here.
Sneaked off early from work today, ( and hubby) so went to biology with hubby, and then went to wyevale and b&q on my own...didn't buy anything from wyevale as I just can't justify paying their prices , but yet I was VERY tempted as they did have some David Austin roses reduced to half price, OK they did look a bit sorry for themselves but I am sure they would eventually come to look nice., but bought a load of reduced bedding plants in b&q reduced down to 50p and £1 a tray..also bought a lovely 'scabby' plant reduced down,Work to live= not live to work0 -
NOW.... question is, is ruby fat or storm thin ??0
-
now be honest... is this not the tattiest hair style bunch ??0 -
Really I need a picture from behind to see their spines, but storm does NOT look thin to me. He doesn't have much hind end muscle, emphasised by the way he is put together ( he and Ruby have different conformation of bottoms, hers is not going to look like his out of work unless she were very ill, skinny and a bit old. And his is never going to look as good as hers with out a good work building up his hind musculature).
Ruby doesn't look too awfully fat as I had feared either
They probably both benefit from routine dentals ( horses always do, just like us, but we don't suffer the sharp bits they can get) but nothing like I was imagining!0 -
this is the only recent clearest one I have
he seems to have lost his rear end curves ........ but maybe as you suggested ...needs muscular work.. he has been lazier this winter.0 -
He's not thin.
I would stick to the suggestion I made on the phone. Why he's lost muscle would interest me, I'd want to just check the bases and get a quick look see at what's going on, particularly check liver enzymes / RBc count. Not that I think he looks dreadful. I just think its good to have a good idea of what's going on. With horses vet bills are such that prevention bills are always better than cure!0 -
the more I think about it, the more I think it could be muscle loss due to not being worked.. hes had a cushy winter !! im going to start lunging him and long reining, see if it makes a difference.
I will still do what you suggested but after my hols now...0
