It's not the natural die back Choille sadly. I've got a few and this is something very odd, I wish I could post a photo0

I'd be thinking of lifting the dicentra with a good amount of soil then wash off in a bucket of water a look for grubs. If the roots are eaten through, vine weevil would be a candidate.0

Thanks guys, I'll lift it at the weekend and see. It's strange how quick it's spreading, it's not a closely planted border at all as its one I've only just started working on. It's driving me mad lol0

If you dig around the plants with a trowel, you will spot the little blighters if it is vine weevil. Are they problematic in borders though, I have only ever had trouble with them in pots and containers? The nematode things made a good job of getting rid of them - although for ornamentals there are other things that can be used, that might be quicker....0 -
Midnight does sound nice. I don't normally name them.
Hissing it down again & blowing a hooley....again.
I really do think we should be getting a reduction in the Council tax.
Today we will be expecting to finish the fill on the en-suite. It's looking a great shape & the narrow band of windows on three sides where the bath will sit - a bath - just think - a bath- are looking good. Amazing how the trees have grown up & the scrub. I sat in the bath when it was in place - not fitted yet. It's a deep one. I think we will need to raise it. I also should take out some trees so I can see the loch - just cut out a path. I can't wait to get out there with a saw.
I think we will be able to use it as a boat - the bath. With all this rain we may very well have to use it for that.0 -
Twisted foliage might indicate poisoning with glyphosate, Fay, especially if the plant yellows. Have you been using weedkiller near the affected plants? Or could a neighbour have been using it nearby? Slight spray drift won't kill plants, but it can set them back.
Apart from that, twisted foliage can come with a virus, but these are normally species specific, or a fungus, but again, I wouldn't expect this to cross easily between different species.
It's a mystery.:(0
