well we have tried everything, even offering to buy the 2 horses but she says NO....
we are upset but nothing we can do now..
we will be looking out for a small riding pony for friends grandchild now shetlands leaving.. poor girl is devastated.. I will NEVER loan again ... if we go to a rescue site and they say a forever home then I want it as a bluddy court order !!0 -
Sounds like fostering, alfie....and a difficult, heartbreaking task that can be!
Horse woman has a rescue as company for her 32year old thoroughbred. Not sure what happens when he goes, which could be any time. He's Horse Woman's life nowadays.
...Which reminds me, a fox had one of Horse Woman's chickens earlier this week. She thinks it was in broad daylight.:eek:0 -
So sorry Alfie, this is the heart ache when having an animal on loan.
When I had horses, my first ever pony was a little welsh mountain 11.2hh
Called lucky in reality I was a bit big for him when we bought him as a first pony, so couldn't part with him, when we bought our next one.. So the little girl across the road used to ride him and take care of him... This was long term, and in the end they bought him for a lot less than what he was worth, and had all the tack and his and bobs we bought along the way for him. Think she also had my show jacket etc I had outgrown.....the payment was more of a token gesture... I don't think I could have ever taken him away from her, as you see the bond they had formed...
But that is me.
Still grey and muzzling here, so will prop have a moochy morning, and then prob do some baying.... Didn't bother going to the big monthly auction... Because of the rain, plus I would only end up spending and adding to my crap pile lolWork to live= not live to work0 -
and on the 7th day the heavens opened and let water fall 'ere.....:(0

We've had snow & hail & the wind is picking up again. It's really cold. Lambing snow.....
Alfie sounds like the house sale will not be a long wait.
Had plumber & plasterers & other here today so big progress. I would recommend a plaster board lifter if anyone is doing ceilings - makes a lot less back strain. I bought one off ebay & it has been a boon.
The plumber plumbed in the island unit which looks fab.0 -
so pleased for you choille.... I would say good things come to those that wait but.... your "wait" has been exceptional ! so good on you both,,, this is your year... xx0
