Good news all round, IHS. Mum will be so relieved to go home, I'm sure,
Nothing wrong with sensible, either, though I did have one 'mid-life-crisis car, an Audi, but it was still an estate!:rotfl:
Yes, good to hear your mum is recovering IHS
We had a couple of *mid-life crisis* car purchases Dave - one was a (relatively inexpensive, being a Vauxhall, lol!) brand new black Astra Coupe with red leather interior that DH picked as he's a Gary Numan fan - hence the black/red comboThe other was slightly more sensible - a 60th anniversary Landy (also black
) that had been modified by Nene Overland to include panoramic windows - but rather more pricey. Soon decided it was too good for taking our dogs out on muddy walks in the woods so that was replaced by our current 110 Landy - perfect for mucky pets, huge auction purchases etc

Spent yesterday afternoon in Inverness picked up sink that the courier failed to deliver & didn't want it hanging about in a ware house.
Looked at tiles & got thoroughly confused at the choice & the prices =- well the prices.........WOW - when did prices get so high?
IHS - Glad to hear your Mum is on the mend.
Alfie I listed loads & it's been really quiet, but one can only hope.
Lovely day here & back from the hygeniest/dentit o till numb after having me gums poked - GUMS.0 -
afternoon all,
GLORIOUS day here... didn't manage to do any listing today, ran out of ink half way through printing out labels etc... its flipping drinking ink, ( canon) so decided to buy a hp printer, and sign up to the ink deal, where it knows when you are going to run out of ink, and they send you new ink out in the post.. its per sheet or something... so not only does it work out cheaper, it also saves me 'faffing' around when I am half way through printing, and it decides its running out of ink lol...
so going to set that up tomorrow in work....
my little quail have decided to into egg lay overdrive with this warm weather lol... so it looks like quail egg omelettes will be on the plate soon...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Good idea about the *ink deal* CTC, will have to look into that as we use a ton with our business too and also ran out yesterday
Sales have stagnated somewhat here as well - sold a large antique furniture item just before Easter weekend (a piece we've had for about seven years but no room in this house unfortunately) and almost got back what we paid in 2008 - and a few music-related items are trickling through but generally very quiet.....can't blame people for wanting to make the most of the sunshine I guess
Meant to be going to Antiques for Everyone at the NEC tomorrow - some dealer friends sent us complimentary tickets - but there's so much to do here I'm not sure we can spare the time and I'm itching to get more garden stuff done. Am starting to think about chickens again too!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Spent the last 3 hours on sheep related stuff & thought I'd broken my ankle when I slipped, but just strained. Not handy.
Glorious day & will get the sheep up the hill tomorrow - hopefully.
Good to see the lighter nights too.0 -
Trying to do things, but sometimes running about like a headless chicken as there's so much to do!
Suddenly, the house and the garden both need us in equal amounts, but there's also cleaning, shopping, cooking etc.... and just daft things that take an hour but give you nothing to show for it!
Like this morning when a stupid pigeon invaded the barn where we have things stored. Could I get it out? Could I heck!
Eventually, Lila joined me in the pursuit of pigeon, which was getting tired by then and flopped down on the upstairs level. I thought, "Bad move!" because that's where Lila was, but it all went quiet. When I got up there, they were just sitting, looking at each other! :rotfl:
I picked up the bird, took it to the door and it flew off. Lila is clearly confused by larger birds, knowing that we have hens. She's a very gentle cat, despite her natural ebullience, so we've had terrible trouble teaching her to use the cat flap which has quite a magnet on it. Izzy, on the other hand, just bashes it out of the way with her nose, no problem.
Do you mean floor tiles, choille? We bought some of the cheapest porcelain ones and they were still well over £1k for the hall, cloakroom & utility.
Cheapjack ink user here. I don't run out because I only use generics and I can afford to have plenty of those.:D I also won't buy printers which lock people to their own product, but then, my printer was a Freegle freebie anyway!
Random last thing. Came out of the supermarket in our one-horse town to find car sandwiched between the sublime & ridiculous. Aston Martin V8 on one side and Reliant Robin on the other! :rotfl:0 -
hi all......... another gorgeous day here.:D
i worked all day then went to pick up the rest of the garden furniture.. looks a bit overkill on my patio area... theres quite a lot of it !!:o
when I got home, I unloaded it all then went to reverse into my parking bit and my gear sticks gone all wobbly ! cant get reverse or 5th gear and although its getting 1,2,3,4, its all of a tilt... pithed ! I need two new front tyres and now thisgotta try and get it into garage asap, and must have a courtesy car ... so gonna have to be the merc garage not my local one  £££££s
just when I was getting in some £s .....
ps. just thought cars facing the wrong way and I cant reverse out of the drive.... poop0 -
Mum back from hospital, which is good. Still very, very limited in what able to do, hopefully will see improvement after a decent sleep.0

I was just looking at the bathroom for tiles - mainly wall. I do like marble, but I don't think the price is within reach. I don't know if lino on the floor will make it look wrong - I've looked at too many tiles - I need a mind wash of tiles. I see them when I shut my eyes.
Alf - sorry to hear of car woes - can be so not welcome. I hate when things don't work.
Good Mum home IHS - hope she soon regains strength.
My leg is killing me now. I am so annoyed at myself.0 -

Comfrey, comfrey and comfrey.
If it has started to grow, a few leaves in a pan with a little water. Strain onto a cloth and wrap round. Otherwise, dried or ointment.
What I did when I went head over heels, foot under the tbar of the plot sign and me and the spade over it. Drove to Pencuik the following week and a week later the underside of my foot was BLACK. I had walked on it all week.
Warning the juice stains, so wrap the ankle in a plastic bag whilst you have it soaking.
It "brings the bruise out" and reduces the discomfort massively. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
