If they are in a foil packet, reasonable. Paper - not so much.

Get a paper towel, moisten, add 20 seeds , fold over and put in a plastic bag. Seal and leave up to a week. Then see how many have started to germinate.

they are just in a paper packet.. so might just give them a miss, I have another packet here, which is in date..

I had my seeds everywhere lol. so over the winter whenever I found some packs around the place I put them into a 'seed box' so at least now I will not lose any, and I can keep an eye on the dates...

    Now.:)

My first mangy toots are up and away in the polytunnel, but they're small ones which will probably go in the bed there.

I haver a mouse-proof bench to start stuff like that on. :D
Now I just have to make the poly cat-proof, as our new mogs are more interested in getting inside than they were last year. :(

Another sunny day, which is handy because we're changing bedrooms again....:o

Took all the furniture out of the patio door in Bed 1 and put it in the garden, removed carpet, re-fitted carpet in Bed 3 (which is 'done') and now we need to take the furniture into Bed 3. Not sure how we'd have managed if it was blowing a gale and raining!

Next week we knock down one wall in Bed 1. Once we've re-built it and decorated, we can move all the stuff out of Bed 2 and repeat. That will conclude the wall-bashing.....well, almost....:D

Great you got the pet shop to take back the guinea pig Alfie.

Yes, it is good to get on with the build as I thought I was going to go mad.

Lovely day here - Downstairs cloaks getting plaster-boarded just now. OH getting on with wiring the kitchen - really pleased with the black gloss sockets. Blisssssssssssssss

Love the wee piggies and the baby goats! Just spent some time pottering in the garden - a beautiful day here. I need to do extensive work in the back garden but it is cool out there so will leave for another day! Just waiting for my neighbour to say my coffee is ready - nice enough to sit out for it this afternoon.

Good to hear the house projects are coming along.

~ears pricked up~ Black gloss sockets? you wouldn't happen to have any photos please? And where are they from? :D

When I asked for chrome surface mounted sockets my electricians nearly went into melt down  don't see things like that around here :rotfl: it's easier to just get what you want and hand it over!

Also lovely here, still sorting out front garden, with one eye on the rugby too!

Got to finish cleaning and tidying indoors tonight, mum's coming tomorrow for a few days  I've had no time to sort the [STRIKE]$h1thole[/STRIKE] house out, been too busy outdoors to do or care about anything indoors, talk about mad rush!

I also put a load of stuff on freecycle yesterday and today that I can't be bothered to find a home for here, that should all be out of my way soon!

Tired today - the progress is good, but I seem to spend time running to get things, hand things up ladders & paint & make cups of tea & coffees - constantly.

Know how you feel choille - although obviously we've not had to endure the hardships you have - two back-to-back major renovation projects over seven years doing the lion's share ourselves has totally taken it out of me (DH is bearing up well though ;)) and I feel utterly burnt out. Don't think dealing with three parents with Dementia (and two of the passing away) over the same period has helped either :(

Just seem to want to sleep all the time atm......

Still, managed to get to Wales today - well, just over the border actually so not Wales proper - to collect some furniture for the verandah here.

Had a bit of a scare on the A41 where there were 6-8 escaped horses trotting down the centre of the busy road  With the help of another passing motorist we succeeded in containing one (injured as he had no shoes :() horse in a layby, where we waited till the police and an equine vet arrived......poor horse was bleeding buckets from his torn hooves. Just hope the others were rounded up without injury - crazy motorists were hurtling past, despite DH's best efforts to slow traffic.......
