Mr BD out every evening this week. Dress rehearsal tonight with wig and makeup (you didn't get the full monty unlike Dave in the photo I posted last week).

Old dog went out for her first short walk since she fractured her leg - she seems to be OK thank goodness.

My make-up was different on the last night, suddenly becoming pink for no reason whatever. To ensure continuity on the DVD, the original make up is usually stored as an image in someone's phone and copied. ;)

Mr BD has my sympathy. I'm so pleased it's over for another year! We had 4 sell-out nights and raised well over £2000, which is amazing for such a small village. The people involved are rather special; some of them having completed 14 Pantos, apparently without any loss of enthusiasm. :A

    I'm just a newbie.

Glad Old Dog is comfortable enough to get out and about again.:T

    We have a thunderstorm.......

Happy birthday phoebe. Hope uv had a grand day.
  • Happy birthday Pheobe, hope you had a lovely day...

So sexy Davesnave, have you ever thought of a side line, as a make up consultant to the stars?? Lol

Weather is a lot calmer here today.

Its another heads down and back to the grindstone today...

I know its officially spring on Sunday, but when do the clocks go forward?

  • Thanks for your birthday wishes everyone :T

I had a lovely day, doing lots of *me* things although in the end I couldn't be bothered with going out in the evening to the Italian restaurant we'd booked so we cancelled and stayed in with a curry watching the final Broadchurch instalment :D

It's bright and sunny again here today - should have been out working in the garden, but there was a ton of parcels to package up and posting to do, catching up after yesterday's day out :o Only just finished it all now and seems a bit late to start.....might get a few bits planted perhaps :)

BD - I'm so pleased to hear Old Dog is comfortable going for walkies again, bless her :A Hope all goes well with Mr BD's panto!

Dave - agree with CTC, your make up rivals some of the girls working on the make up counters in department stores.....you could definitely easily get a job there should the need arise :rotfl:

CTC - I think clocks go forward on 29th March this year ;)

    Happy belated birthday pheobe. :)

I got some inexpensive lights for the back hall way in the post today. Just fed up of looking at bulbs and having a real blank with finding lights I both love and can afford. So have bitten the bullet. Still looking for the study.

Then got another parcel and fir has bought be a lovely gift.

Dave, that's a good amount raised by the Panto, well done, that stunning make up is clearly popular with the paying public :beer::beer: My make up skills only extend to lipstick, so you are way ahead of me :o:o:o:o Shame you have just missed the Oscars for the DVD ;);)

Exhausted following meeting this afternoon with NHS Commissioners and Provider on our Service User Group. You would not believe the machinations at the NHS - Mr BD describes it as a health version of 'Yes Minister' :(:(:(:(

A new service specification has been agreed, but implementation is proving to be problematic due to the intransigence of the current provider. And there aren't other providers banging on the door offering their services. This along with fragmentation as a result of the introduction of CCG's is making progress slow and painful.:mad::mad::mad:

Builder has hopefully fixed the leaking chimney today. He wont take any money for a couple of weeks until it has rained heavily and we are sure the fix has worked. And he reduced the bill by £50 as the job didn't take as long as expected. Can't complain at that!! !:cool::cool::cool:
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I don't apply the make-up or choose the part, but someone obviously thought both suited me. :D

You should have seen one of my friends, who was playing a ghost, but also ended-up playing Mrs Cratchit as well when his wife lost her voice. Quite a challenge, firstly getting into his wife's dress, but also convincing anyone he was a woman....he has a full beard! :rotfl:

Power was off from 8am till 5pm today, but despite us finding a generator, the plasterers failed to show up and our builder, seeing the weather, went home. :(

I took the opportunity to tackle my office floor, which our builder, imagining it was being tiled, didn't finish too carefully when he moved the wall. :( I spent at least 4 hours removing concrete he'd finished about 1cm too high, compared with the rest of the floor. Grrr! Then, a quick mix of levelling compound and his work was 'finished off.' He'll never know what a hassle it caused! ;)

He's a dear friend and a great worker, but like most of us, he makes the odd dodgy decision. I was desperate to sort that out without embarrassing him. :)

Lithop seeds have been delivered...they are so tiny! Anyhow, will have go at germinating them on a heat mat.

At the other end of the plant spectrum, bought a couple of 'thugs' - Jasminum beesianum and Clematis montana 'Elizabeth' to hopefully accelerate coverage of fences where other plants made little impact last year.

Other arrivals were Coreopsis lanceolata ‘Sterntaler’, Crocosmias Lucifer, Carmine Brilliant & George Davidson. Also a 6-pack of Pachysandra terminalis, for the 'problem' north-facing border in the back garden.

Am now thinking about doing something more exciting with the front garden, however that is not so easy as it's shaded by the house most of the day and the soil is pretty wet. Possibly a Gunnera manicata :)?

Now that's what I call dull!

The bergamot ( red) was astounding in the shade last year here. Would it cope up there? I have never grown it, and I kept going out to gawp at it I was so excited by it. I grew it too close to even more successful Angelica ( must remember that its its second year when I get too excited this year and sow some more). And the look was pretty invigorating together.
