Well, I've just moved my office, yet again! I'm now in the kitchen, stuck between the fridge freezer and the draining board. :o

Moving has taken most of the day, thanks to shifting the Openreach socket and going from one loft to another. :( In a week or two, I'll be able to shift it all back again! :rotfl:

Now, one end of the house is completely empty which will enable the plasterers to go through, skimming all the walls and ceilings, hopefully in double quick time. Mr Rod brought along his assistant to see the job, and I'm pleased to say he was polite, keen and built like a brick khazi, so I think we'll be OK. :)

    Plumbers start tomorrow. :D

Flower-wise, I don't think Scotland sounds behind at all this year. Very few flowers out here yet, apart from the hellebores, snowdrops and a few celandines down by the stream.

I have a feeling it will all kick-off pretty quickly now, though, and I just hope we don't have many late frosts.

Could have left all those dahlias in the ground!!! :o
  • Only hellebores and snowdrops out here too.....although there are obviously lots of surprises in store for us in this new garden and I can't wait to see what will emerge next :D We do have a huge rhodie in bud (yellow) and masses of other shrubs are bursting into life.....it's very exciting ;)

Have had a lazy(ish) day today - DH went out to a trade fair to search for stock, then we took the dogs for a long walk in the grounds of a nearby stately home which was enjoyable as it wasn't too cold for a change and the sun made a brief appearance. Did a bit of painting on our return but then succumbed to the temptations of toasting crumpets on a log fire :D

It sounds as though you're coming on in leaps and bounds at your place Dave! Which reminds me we need to find ourselves a good plumber as we seem to be building up a supply of loos, basins and taps etc.......

I hope so because I did mine! If I want to move albums Dave when would I do it, or is it a no no?
I've been decorating all day and most likely will be all week, but jobs done now free me up for the garden once spring happens :)

I presume this was 'alliums' before your iPad got hold of it! :)

Hmmmm, many alliums will already be growing beneath the soil, and my ramsons are already above it, so maybe not now.

I'd suggest digging down beside one and seeing what it is, or isn't doing before deciding. If it's still dormant, then move, but always leave a couple for insurance.

PS More dahlias are killed by slugs than hard winters. Slugs aren't a big problem here though.

Beautiful Iris - Is it a miny one? I love them.

Nothing here flower wise as yet, but the liberated daffies look imminent.

Yesterday we managed to get the boulder out of the track - felt very good after all the levering with the crow bar & popping stones in & to finally get the brute rolled into the ditch - the boulder, not Mr Choille, although we did have our moments!

Got a housekeeping job done that should have been done last week & listed stuff on the bay until silly o'clock so very productive. Chucking it down today so off for sheep feed with trailer. This is making a big difference is the trailer.

Dave & Alfie are such busy bees. Our plumber has cried off today as he has van problems. Hopefully tomorrow..................

Thought I'd get ahead of myself and make a spag bol to do two evenings in Panto week. :A

Trouble is, I put it in the wrong oven to do overnight.....:o:o:o

That's the problem with the Aga; the seals are so good you don't smell a thing......

Tonight's meal is now pure carbon. It's annoying to think that just a small difference in chemical composition and it would be diamonds! :rotfl:

well having overslept this morning and now having a thumping headache ........:o it is raining... its that dismall non stop windless drizzle that soaks you through before you realise... got an airport run at 1pm.. guy got back from dubai saturday eve and off again today ! id like to say "youngsters can do it" but this guy is 75.....:rotfl:..........i feel really tired after this weekend :( but i will recharge and be ready for work tomorow hopefully. have the farrier tomorow at 3. the coralles drainage is now sorted so can use it again. it had water that froze a few weeks ago and was a skating rink which i tested and me and a bucket of feed went buttt over bonce much to the enjoyment of the geese who devoured the contents of said bucket spanning the area :p ......i seem to have a lot of smaller rugs in a stack after swopping around  they are all old ones so i dont want to get rid but one may end up in "my room" at CTC's....;):D :rotfl: by the way, did you sort out a elaborate bed for your room ctc? i have a beaut in my garage... very grand and lovely wood pillars ??? and also that wardrobe if you still want it ? at this rate you will have furniture before the house...:rotfl:
  • Dull and drizzly here first thing, so opted to work indoors today - DH has taken a few days *off* lol and is painting the morning room in a very daring, dark shade that you guys would most probably hate

I've been busy sorting through my masses of fabric boxes finding fabric for blinds/curtains for bedrooms and bathrooms.....have the sewing machine out ready so that will be tonight taken care of ;) Then it was on to more bedroom painting - have set myself targets to get rooms finished and I'm already falling behind.....

Trouble is, the sun has come out now so I'm feeling guilty that I'm not out there digging/clearing, but I really want to get our bedroom done as I feel we've earned it - At the last house we never had a finished master bedroom - all horrid exposed stone till just before we marketed it, then once plastered we painted it in my least favourite colour (white - or at least a period, off-white) to appeal to buyers - so it will be a real luxury after all those years of hard slog renovating to have sanctuary that feels like *ours* to escape to :D

Still, the forecast for Tuesday is sunshine so should both be able to get some hard graft done in the garden tomorrow!

    Onwards and upwards.......
