I have it on good authority that if we get any at all, it'll be Saturday night/Sunday morning.

    Suits me! :D

Should have a completed living room ceiling by tonight though, and now the fire door's been re-done, that's working better too. :)
  • We had a light flurry at lunchtime - it's laid, but now the sun is out ;) That put paid to my good intentions re: the garden today. Due to the way our house is built into the escarpment though our garden is extremely well protected from adverse weather......yay!

Am instead inside painting......and waiting for more supplies of F&B paint to arrive :D

Hope you're feeling better today LIR :)

You're making good progress there Dave.....well done!

Stay warm and safe everyone xxx

Getting in was fun - traffic queuing to get up the hill to the bus stop. The trains cancelled and late.

Snowing on and off but now definitely more on than off and much heavier. Think I am going early.

Glad I no longer have to worry about getting to work in the snow!

The winter before I retired there was a heavy snow fall. DH was away, I couldn't dig car out. Went for bus which then involved a further bus and a long detour to work. Got there 2 hours late but manager was delighted to see me, glad I had made the effort etc etc. Someone who lived nearer bus route than I did had phoned in to say there was no way she could get to work as our village was cut off! Boy, was she in trouble with our manager! Said person didn't speak to me for months because she reckoned I had dropped her in the s**t!
  • this about sums up the amount of snow we had today

We may not have had anything dramatic in terms of white fluffy stuff, but around the middle of the day, things suddenly became much colder.....

One minute I was quite cheerfully working outside, throwing breeze blocks into another of Pete's trailers, and the next, I was huddled indoors over the Aga, remembering how I used to get mega-chilblains back in the 'good old days.' :rotfl:

Anyway, ceilings are just about done, at least for now, and our new cloakroom suite arrived. Trouble is, there are 11 internal doors sitting in the cloakroom.....so the suite's in the barn. :o

I could always get to work in the snow. :( I used to be the Snow Person for work. I was supposed to walk there and then decide things, thanks to the Head Person living blooming miles away......

But now I don't care what it does !!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Very cold & not much done apart from a paint of a wall. Haven't got all the plastering done, nor even plasterboard on, but was itching to get some paint whacked on.
Got three tins of paint for £30 so that was a good buy.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Got some meds put up to night but believe it or not we had a random blizzard and I decided it wasn't worth me driving out in it tonight. I can brave it in the morning. We're not so far from a road that will be gritted if it settles and I'm not worried about driving in the snow, but driving in heavy falling snow needlessly at the busiest road time seemed silly.....with others who aren't necessarily sensible. Sigh.

Choille, this is the last cold year, right? Next winter the Rayburn is in?

It was something in the sky though. While I was trying to get our birds in Dog dog caught pigeon somewhere, didn't see her get it...I.e. She could have found it somewhere, but I'd be surprised if something else had left a bird here ( cats, rats, foxes, anything after meat around here. )

It was like being in a fairly gruesome snow globe......oddly dressed woman with bird eating dog, rounding up live birds.....and terrier going down rat holes in semi darkness.
