Alfie's the one whose physchic. It was so odd what happened.

The cat isn't ugly CTC - shouldn't call them rude names.
Sticking out their tongue is a sign of bliss.
  • lol.. when we first had her all she done was scawl sp? lol... she is a very 'expressional' cat if that makes sense, she can go from frowning, to kitten like depending on her mood lol..

Tabbies are great. I think they're very intelligent.

My old fat cat - who I miss, used to come about the croft with me - checking the hens, the lambs, the sheep. It was so funny. I would say - come by, come by & he would be up & at the door raring to go.

Thanks Lir I will have a look, that sounds a good bet, especially mixed with another one.

Great. Well, if you like her, and want to mix her with a pink then I'd go to David Austin roses. Their online catalogue is good, they have a selector tool too.

For pinks you are really, really spoiled for choice tbh. You just have to consider which exact shade of pink you like.

and flower form. While not old fashioned Clare Austin and the Austin roses have an old rose type bloom ( in various different guises).

If this doesn't appeal yell and I'll suggest alternatives.

I actually come from quite close to David Austin roses so I migth pop there next weekend as I'm over that way. I really like the old fashioned type roses and the ones the bees can actually get to if they want to. The pergola is painted the same colour as you have used a lot at your place so I'm thinking a pal dish pink or a white/cream would go well. I like lemon roses but I'm not sure it would look right against the green. Thanks again for the advice.
I want more roses in the garden. I have a large bed I'm renovating this year. It's south/west facing but overhung by large trees from the old georgian estate next door so can be dry and shady. Any ideas?

Conifers do well locally but I don't really want leylandii, it's too unforgiving if you leave it go, but Dave what do you think about Thuja plicata? The growers/sellers say it puts on 2-3 ft per year, and can be cut into and re grows. My other choice is laurel...
Western Red Cedar is better than leylandii for the reason you identified, and it's better than laurel on a smallholding because it's less toxic to stock. :)
