"That's awful about your greenhouses, hopefully you'll have better luck in the future. I think the wardrobes sound like a great idea. My mom said something about railway sleepers but they seem quite expensive."

They weren't proper greenhouses - blowaways. Those cheap things covered in plastic you get when you really can't afford a proper one... When (if?) we sell old home I might indulge... But we have a solar shed that I don't use for growing which is a bit stupid. But it's towards back of garden, and it's rather further than I can walk other than in good weather when can collapse on a strategically placed plastic chair en route. But a proper greenhouse might be good at the lottie. Along with a non leaking shed! ;)

Might be worth checking out your local freecycle/freegle for wardrobes? Ours were bought by my parents in the 50s/60s and they passed them on when they got built ins. They were expensive wardrobes when they were bought I think - G-Plan. We had someone come in to see if anything of value (not a chance! All that is at new home already! ;) ) and he said wardrobes desperately unfashionable. He would come and clear house (at a cost) but we figure why not use perfectly good wood at lottie. We might get him in to clear the real carp though if we run out of time. :rotfl:

PS I edited the garden pics where had 2 the same. <roll eyes smilie> so now there are actually 3 different pics... Bad brain day today. :o

Hi TG :hello: nice to have a new Daydreamer on board. :j

If you are living near Tallington now, Better Days will probably be your nearest person on this thread.

Although I almost agree with the others who said, "don't start on the garden until a full year has elapsed." I think it's hard not to do something almost immediately.

With all that grass, it's fairly safe to dig out a bed in order to dip your toes into growing. :)

Won't say what I did with my garden in the first year, but it involved a digger and many bonfires. :rotfl:

Lovely big, neat garden Tally. I'd be tempted to just put a raised bad somewhere bright & start filling it. I'd also make a compost heap for garden waste, or get one of those bins off the council.

    I'd soon mess it up.

MSE Forums had a *major* spam attack last night/this morning. So they've been messing with the spam traps, and peoples sigs still aren't working again yet. Earlier today a lot of posts were looking unreadable with !!!! all over the place. That seems to be sorted now. Or am I speaking in a foreign language to you Alfie? ;) I feel as if I'm speaking in a foreign language to myself! :rotfl:

Well the weather is grim. I'm pleased, it seems seasonally appropriate.

But I got up, kicked the dogs out and then snuggled back in bed. There was no point doing much, and doubt there will br point till after seven.

Just popped in to say hello.

We've had better years, and better health, but things are settling down now. We've just got a gardener to help look after our patch which had got too much for us.

Will be delving back into the threads for piccies of all the projects

Good to see so many posters, and good wishes to all daydreamers!

I refer the honourable member to my post No147. :D

Lovely to see you, rhiwfield, and to hear that both of you have put your health on an even keel. It strikes me you have always made good, carefully researched decisions. :)

This Daydream stuff is OK for the youngsters, eh? With all our aches and pains here, I'm beginning to wonder if taking on a few acres to 'stay fit' was quite the right idea! :rotfl:
