I'm fairly stressed ATM, with rain belting into the building through the big hole!

There's a fairly tight schedule to keep for things, like making more openings for new doors and a loft opening/ladder so that the insulation guys and electricians can get on quickly in January....Christmas for the building trade starts on Friday night. :undecided

OTOH, I know that we'll get through and just laugh about it, this time next year. :)

Are you starting to dry out Dave?

Sods law is that it pours with rain when you have a bloomin' great hole in the side of the house. What are the 'hole filling' plans and can they be expedited?

Hope your stress levels are reducing. I recommend CBT - 'Chicken behavioural therapy'. A friend of mine and I are of the opinion that sitting watching chickens is one of the most relaxing things you can do, and would save the NHS a fortune in therapy fees. I think I might mention it at the next NHS meeting I go to.;)
All funny stuff till you think £15/hr x2 = £30 and the real thing is only:

I know what you mean - common sense appears to go out the window (or the hole in the wall!!!)

Our 'man' tried to save £10 by not putting in a new thingy when he replaced the toilet in the cloakroom. So it leaked. So he put some sealant round. Still leaked. So he bought some expensive sealant which is the 'latest thing'. Still it leaked. So eventually he did what he should have done in the first place and took the toilet out again and replaced the plastic pipe thingy. Agghhhhh
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

The hole is only half the size it was this morning.......:D

As you can see, we had a tarpaulin which stopped some of the rain, but there's no gutter below the valley yet, so when it rains hard......

Tonight, I have the tarpaulin going straight down from the soffit to the ground, but securing it is difficult. The wind is from the west rather than north-west now, so we may get away with it. :undecided

Well I've had a really strange day.

I was assaulted & sworn at & knocked to the ground......by a woman delivering a Christmas card
    down here.

I'm still in shock. I can't quite make sense of today.

Choille, you can do without that!:shocked:

I hope the shock has worn off and that you haven't any aches & pains as a result.

Let me guess, was it your troublesome neighbour, 'redirecting' a card?

I'd phone the peelers and get them to log it, so there's a crime number and a record. Of course what you do is up to you, but personally, I wouldn't let it pass. :(

Are you ok? When your community is small to have a 'link' in it not just be ones you don't turn to like neighbours you don't get on with, but actually aggressively hostile is a whole different ball game. Practically and psychologically IMO.

    Please take care dear thing.
