  • At last, something to add to my empty Emergency Fund:j

Received £72 annual Christmas dividend bonus from my area Co-op. Will be using it on December grocery spending and the equivalent 'saved' has been transferred to my Emergency account. Up and running at long last:j.

Am leaving car repair until New Year as, due to unexpected circumstances, I won't be needing to use my own car other than for my own shopping trips and other things where I won't have any passengers and don't need to use the jammed door. Might have scraped a bit more emergency cash together by then.

    Good luck everyone:beer:

Another little bit to add to the pot:j. £20.15 received from a survey company, requested at end of October. Redeemed from some others at the same time and they paid within days/couple of weeks at most but that's already been spent on necessities:o. Hadn't expected this latest sum to arrive before Christmas really so had budgeted without it. Can just about spare it to add to my Emergency Fund.

    Happy saving, everyone:beer:

P.S. Have also done a little Tilly Tidy of £7.85 to make a nice round £100 in my Emergency Fund savings account.

Well, benefits claim now set up & as a bonus, have spoken to the Council regarding the fact they wanted CT for the period I was on a JSA sanction, so had switched to ESA. Looks like I can back-date my current claim to the day my old one was closed due to a change in circumstances.

Almost at pay-out point on a couple of survey sites, so that will be added to my EF and disregarded from benefits income.

  • patman: No idea what some of those initials in your posting are:o but it sounds complicated. Very pleased you had a good result, not always easy when dealing with bureaucracy is it?

Thanks again for starting this challenge:T

Number 45 popping in, gutting news, for some reason they've stopped my housing benefit for the first two weeks of December :( I always have trouble with them, any little change and it's like they throw the paperwork in the air and pick a number from the sky, sigh. More time out to go sort it...anyway, I'm in a huff and so I don't spend it instead I'm sending £62.16 into the emergency fund, leaving me a tenner spare to pig out on.

£287.45/£1000 over a quarter full yay!
I love my savings account, it takes three days to come back so I can't use it for impulse buys :)

2015 is going to be the year I get rid of the stinky CC and have an EF. It's going to be a slow job getting the EF but that's ok, slow and steady :)
