Hi everyone #106 coming back to join you all if that's ok? It's all got a bit out of control this year but I've been listening to Dave Ramsey's audiobook and it's spurred me on to sort out our mess. The emergency fund is currently on 25p but my budget for June should put at least £500 into it plus hopefully a bit more.TOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000

Well, I used my metal-working skills today. A week or so back I had purchased a 2nd-hand set of roof bars to suit my car (which has rof rails fitted). Unfortuanately, the bars were 1050CM long and I needed 108CM wide ones.
The bars have slots in the end into which the mounting feet slide. I have now elongatted the slots and the bars now fit my car.
Saved £41 on a new pair of bars.Never Knowingly Understood.

Ooh, me please, me please - I want to join!
My emergency fund currently stands at £50 and I'm hoping to add another £57 when I get paid (subject to other financial diddlings required).
I am going to have a high level of outgoings this next 2 months or so but as soon as I have got them sorted I will be trying to get this challenge well and truly nailed.
Good idea for a thread, patmann99! :TDebt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Welcome to PositiveBalance who is member #187.
Not much to report other than washing machine is making strange noises so may need to dip into my EF sometime in the future.
Payday is Tuesday, so not long to wait in order to add to my holiday fund (must pay some more of this off soon).Never Knowingly Understood.

I'm going to stick around if that's ok. I'm going to keep topping it up so that there is a buffer to go with it and also to encourage everyone else along the way too.
A big thank you to Patman for setting this up, it really has helped the journey.
Keep up the good work everyone
Yes, please stick around, Dobbibill:T
You've always been so supportive to us all and your encouragement is always welcome. You'd be really missed if you stopped posting:beer:
Many congratulations on reaching your target:dance:0 -
I just opened another regular saver account with FD. £40 a month will go straight into there. It's not much, but I have to wait until I move and see what expenses I have then, before I can commit to more. So, I have started the £1000 challengecar finance £1072/£8285 by sept 2018

Polite question: what types of sounds is your washing machine making? I managed to repair mine recently and save myself £60+.Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Have you been to the Festival yet patman? I know you told us about it and were getting kitted out for it but I forgot when you said it was:o.
I've managed to scrape various bits and bobs together to replenish my EF after having to raid it for crucial repairs and replacements earlier in the year. Over the past few weeks a combination of selling my 'tat' at a couple of car boot sales, some online surveys, a small amount of cashback and a few small online sales have made me some extra cash:T.
Some of this was/is needed for day-to-day living expenses but I'm determined to build up an emergency cushion again. I've now transferred all I can from various places to my main EF account, a lovely £320.24:T. That puts my EF at a more healthy amount, £450.44 in all. Now for the next mega emergency, eh?;)0
