Well done Broggers. That's an impressive discount.

It's one of two 'biggies.' I would have liked to have got rid of some irritating, even more embarrassing bits but I knew that I had to hold back enough cash 'muscle power' to kill one of the two biggies and this ended up being the chosen pray. The other is the Gnats Vest and they do not surrender lightly........I did try because I wanted to know what I thought was right............uuuuuurghhhhhh...........
I hate being right!!
I love pleasant surprises where that is possible(it isn't with the Gnat's!!)

Thanks Puzz - I'm experiencing s a strange, 'bittersweet' feeling from it funnily enough

It's a bittersweet symphony..... I know exactly what you mean. It's a bit like that Alanis Morrisette song about irony, although not quite as bad. Paying off debts feels like you've done something really great but when you actually look, there's nothing there. But that's what we're aiming for....'nothing' and then when we get there we'll start building upwards e.g. savings etc.
A year after last LBM I feel like I've turned a corner, keep going the better feeling will come, I'm sureOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

It's not a bad feeling SS1K!!
I'm quite gobsmacked by what you have said to be honest - it must be one of those 'deep' understandings I am sureI thought I must be the only person to ever think 'bittersweet' about anything but that is the most profound thing I have ever read.
I'm not up to date with Alanis but the 'Symphony' is the Rolling Stones (not The Verve!) and there is real feeling and messages crying out from many of their songs. That's how they earned the millions
Speak shortly my dear.....I'm going to read your post again

I don't know why Alanis's song always resounds in my head, it's a free ride when you've already paid, it's the good advice that you just didn't take. it's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife.
I think they are bittersweet, but she calls the song ironic so may be not.
I think it's something about having my LBM and then realising what I should have done before. Almost like a little LBM every time. And although I'm doing the right thing now, there's the 'why didn't we do this before LBM'.
It's not a bad feeling, but for me more like a kind of a great feeling with a little niggle :rotfl:
Of course that may just be me. I'm a real worrier and always thinking of what if. Although I am changing that with a distraction technique which simply so thinking of something else. Who'd thought it :rotfl:
Oh my gosh is that what MSE is. Right, better stop having verbals all over your thread. Sorry for the bleurh, it is Mother's Day though so I may be allowedOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Also happy to be put right - was only repeating what was said to me - it made sense and didn't make sense at the same time at the time it was said (she said feeling rather averse to bothering with punctuation...why make it easy to read?;))

....Oh my dear,
Every salted tear it wrings,
Bittersweet applause........
A little more bittersweet yesterday.........
Following my P&F with Wuscot / Lower, I had an idea. I have a balance of £3,545.00 on a defaulted credit card agreement from 'magnum-Opus.' It has been with Lower for a couple of years - that's Lower directly without Wuscot getting in the way.
Says Brogden 'you have just agreed to a settlement of less than 25% through Wuscot on debt reference XYZ123 and I have just noticed (!) that this debt is with you very fine people too so I offer you 25%. How about that mush?' The gentleman then asked that if that figure was not acceptable then how much could I pay. '£1,000.00 and the coffers are then empty' said Brogden with some irritation.
The gentleman went to his manager and came back to say £1,000.00 was agreed(the emoticons say 'bittersweet!)
That's £3,545.00 settled for £1,000 (28.2%.)
Another step on the way..............:)
