It has been a bit busy at Brogden Towers. I am getting there but have had some frustrations on the way :(

Happily the trees are cut…….unholy mess on the borders, lawn and paths though for me to clear at weekend .

The ‘Damp Men’ have finished and left. New plaster along my office wall, damp course injected, new vent in the wall and an insulation board too……riveting! Quite satisfying though. They did quite a clean job by builders’ standards……skived off work a couple of hours yesterday to clear up all of the bits of spilt plaster and the dust that had settled all over my desk, work equipment and hifi.

I mentioned our tumble dryer, Creda sadly died recently :(. Yesterday the washing machine Candy departed this mortal coil. She didn’t choose her time well…..in addition to a house full of builders, dust and plaster was a machine full of soaking clothes and towels which for the time being I have had to put in an orange B&Q bucket out the back. Mrs B had 99 nervous breakdowns and my knickers were getting a little twisted to say the least :o.

The final and most painful twist of the knickers was when DD2 arrived home from work and rejected her specially prepared Spanish vegetarian casserole , describing it as ‘evil and the worst thing she has ever tasted.’ Mrs. B started cracking eggs to make her an omelette instead, not knowing that DD2 had gone and ordered a pizza delivery herself online. To avoid shameful waste, Brogden ate the deserted omelette and put the cottage pie he’d been looking forward to all day in the fridge for tonight. The result of this is Brogden now feels a little underfed but looking forward to cottage pie tonight if nothing goes wrong :p!!!

On the finances well……..I might have resolved my P&F issue with Lower and Wuscot and I may finalise a P&F today :). Still obsessed with pension planning and dying to organise some new spreadsheets plotting tax and NI savings :D !!

    Have a great day all.

Well I am still not at the end of the tunnel with DCA’s Wuscot and debt owners, Lower and their systems which do not speak to each other. I have kicked off and been offered the opportunity to make a regulated complaint. I made the original offer in mid January and supposedly Wuscot have emailed it to Lower several times. I have also spoken to Lower directly (and kicked off) but they say they cannot agree an offer unless it is sent to them by Wuscot as they are the appointed DCA’s…………it’s a joke  !!

I have declined to complain as they may then take their time and ‘bring me satisfaction’ within FCA-prescribed timescales and to be honest…….it ain’t good enough nor fast enough. I am hoping now for a response in the next day and at the back of my mind I wonder if this kicking off and excessive numptiness may ultimately work in my favour…….hmmmmmn……….:p

So I do have a news item to report……Mrs. B’s Sparks & Mencer account. ‘Partially and Finally’ settled!!!!…….Outstanding balance £1,470.56 settled for £350.00 (23.8%)

    ……..YEAH!!!………..cover me in mayonnaise!!! :D:D:D!!!!!!!!!!...............:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

    Love it, and congratulations!

    Thanks Skinny :)

When I cut through the red tape and numptiness, I hope I can report something bigger this week but the S&M account has been a token of marital stress for a long time.......all ladies like S&M and being in default at S&M isn't what one would want the neighbours to know is it?

Excellent news on S&M, well done :T

That's a far too indulgent use of mayonnaise :rotfl:
